Chapter Two: Seeing the Family Again...Sorta

"Ya know I will never get used to this." Nick groaned. They were on the plane headed to his Parent's place in California.

"I hate planes! The world would be a better place without them!"

Brian smirked. "I can't believe after all this time you still don't like them. I would have thought you would be used to them by now."

"I am I just don't like them."

"Whatever." Brian sighed and turned himself back over in his seat. Aside for listening to Nick complain he had nothing to do. Watching a cheesy Airline movie was anything but exciting. He turned his head over to his friend who decided to listen to his potable CD player. Brian sighed. 'This is going to be some cupple of weeks. I need a life and a place of my own.'

Nick was excited. Finally he would be able to see his Parents and siblings. He smiled at the thought and started bouncing in his seat. Brian looked at him like he was crazy.

"Boy what is wrong with you? Scared one minute gone crazy the next."

"I'm just excited that's all. I really don't get the chance to see them much. You know that."

Brian smiled. "Yeah I know buddy."

"Attention passengers. We will be landing in California shortly. Please buckle your seat belts." One of the flight attendant's said over the speakers.

"Could they sound anymore cheesier?" Nick asked with a smirk.

Ten minutes later Nick and Brian were outside trying to hail a cab praying nobody would recognize them. The ride to Nick's Parents' place was filled with small talk and plans for their stay in California.

"Well this is it." They got out and grabbed their things. Nick could hardly wait. He ran up to the house leaving Brian paying for the bill.

Brian walked into the house to see Nick hugging his Mom tightly. He waited until they let go and said "Jane hey!" Jane came up and hugged him too. Brian smiled.

"Nicky Boy here decided to make a run for it leaving me to pay the cab fair. Some friend huh?" Brian smirked.

"Oops sorry!" Nick Smiled sheepishly. "So where is everybody else?" Nick asked.

"Oh well your dad had a day off so he took them out to lunch and to do a few things today." Jane smiled.

"Oh okay then. Well, me and Bri are gonna go up to our rooms. Which ones are ours?"

"You both are up the stairs first and second doors on the left. Oh and we have an extra visitor staying with us too. I think your going to like her. She's upstairs right now. If she comes down please be nice."

"Mom I don't bite." Nick interrupted her.

"Yes well I have reason to believe you would with her. She's only here for a short while. She had some problems with school and she got kicked out so I offered her a place to stay. But anyways I'm off. I have to run a few errands before everybody gets back. Make yourselves at home boys but please don't trash the place." With that Jane walked away towards the front door.

"Um okay. Well, that was a bit strange. Does she think I'm gonna bite this girl's head off or something?"

"I dunno." Brian shrugged. "But knowing you..." Brian trailed off deciding against finishing his sentence and heading upstairs. Nick soon followed.

They got settled in a while later and decided they would go out for a swim. They joked around and dunked each other.

"So who do you think this mystery girl is?" Nick asked.

"Probably just a friend of the family or somethin I dunno."

"Well I'm goin inside to watch TV stay out as long as you want. You heard my Mom. 'Make yourselves at home boys'" Nick grinned and walked towards the family room where the TV was. Turning it on he flipped through a few channels and decided to watch some HBO movie. He had just gotten into to in about a half hour later when he heard somebody entering the room. "Brian you done already?" Nick asked thinking Brian had come in from the pool. Nick turned his head and was met with a tall girl with long brown hair a blue eyes. She looked anything but happy.
