Chapter Three: Encounters of the Bitchy Kind

"Oh wow your not Brian are ya?" Nick asked already knowing the answer to his question.

The girl looked at him oddly and said "Gee your quick." She walked away not giving him another look. Nick followed her out of the room to where she was headed in the kitchen.

Nick offered his hand and the girl took it. "Hi I'm Nick. You must be the girl my Mom was talking about. The one that's staying with us."

She nodded. "Mackenzie but you can call me Mac. So what's the big bad rock star doing home? I was told your on tour. Jane likes to get out as much as she can about you and Aaron."

Nick looked at her strangly. "Big bad rock star?" Nick repeated.

Mac nodded. "Yeah"

"Whoa where did that come from?"

"Hello I only hear about you from Jane 24/7. Nick this Nick that it gets very tiring. You and your so called "Band mates" are the hottest thing out there! right now. I mean who wouldn't wan't ten year old girls crying and screaming over them? Poster's of you guys all over their walls. You must be mighty proud." Mac smirked. Mac staired at him excpecting him to leave silently asking herself why he hadn't moved yet. "Do you wan't something?" She asked.

"No that's okay really."

"Well thanks for the warm welcome. Can't wait till we run into each other in the kitchen again." 'Oh this is too easy. I can't believe he doesn't remember me. So much for that promise.' Mac sighed.

"Well aren't we plesent and friendly." Nick muttered and walked outside to find Brian asleep in a lawn chair. He shook him away not caring weather he would be mad at him or not.

"Dude, what do you want? Can't you see I'm trying to sleep? So much for 'make yourself at home'. Home. Atleast I'm able to sleep at one. But really I don't think I will be seeing one of those anytime soon..." Brian kept on rambling on. Something about sleeping in his own bed while Nick stared at him never really paying attention. "And you started shaking me for now reason. This better be good."

Nick stared at him blankly and confused. Finally he started talking. "Her name is Mackenzie. She's a bitch but she's beautiful. She has an additude on her that one."

Brian stared at his friend blankly. "What are you talking about?"

"Our little house guest. Keep up." Nick sighed. "I can't help but think she looks like somebody I might have known. I'm probably just paranoid."

Brian was about to say something back about him being paranoid when they heard the sliding door opening. Brian couldn't help but stare at the girl infront of him. She had to of been atleast 5'8" with long wavey brown hair and shining deep blue eyes. She smiled at him and he felt like he was in heaven. Brian got up and introduced himself to the stranger.

"Hi I'm Brian. You must be Mackenzie. I hear a bit about you." He smiled.

"Yeah that's me but you can call me Mac. Everybody does. But I just about to take a swim would you like to join me?" Mas asked.

"Yeah sure." Brian walked with Mac over to the pool fully forgetting about Nick and his sleep.

Nick staired at the two talking in the pool. Just by what little happened with her critizing him today he could tell him and this girl would not get along. 'Why do I feel like I know her from someplace?' Nick shook off the feeling and headed back into the house hoping the movie he was watching was still on.

---------------

"Hello?" Jane called though out the house hoping somebody would answer. When nobody did she sighed putting down the few bags she had in her hands. She really hoped Mackenzie and Nick got along today. She knew how both of them had a temper. She finished putting the bags of food in the fridge and walked into the family room seeing Nick sprawled out on the couch with the TV on.

Jane shook her head and smiled. 'Some things never change.' She turned off the TV and went out to the backyard seeing Brian and Mac talking but this time at the picnic table. "Finally somebody real to talk to. Nick fell asleep on the couch. I guess he was really tired out. Bob and the kids should be back home soon. I'm sure they would like to see you." Brian nodded. "Well, I'll leave you two alone to talk."

"So where were we?" Mac asked. She really liked talking to Brian. He seemed very smart and funny. 'How did such a nice guy like him become friend's with that.' Mac thought thinking of Nick.
