Many times I have seen her ghostly light,
a lonely beacon adrift across the night.
A smoky mist chained by a lovers fate,
ever awaiting him as the hour grows late.On his parting he stood holding her hand,
vowing his love with a golden band.
His promises passed as words unsaid,
and their souls entwined in a single thread. And so her darling had gone off to war,
and fell they say upon a distant shore.
Regrets grew bitter as her heart grew cold,
a withered rose her love retaining it's hold.So as she lived cursing God's sight,
she took her life forsaking his light.
Rejoining her lover her only thought,
unaware of the chains already wrought.Across the veil, shrouded in misty plight,
a lone soul haunted by the eternal night.
Bound between her heaven and hell,
chained by emptiness and a lovers spell.Lost in a void of time and space,
night fabrics and shades left without grace.
In a timeless rift between life and death,
a movement of air and a frosted breath.Faded image upon stairs and walls,
distant echoings, steps along deserted halls.
Whispered voices, a dreams night cry,
a haunting vision not knowing why.Her lonely vigil has so touched my heart,
I vow ever to keep life and death apart.
And all things I do as I wander life's plain,
grant me never become, a soul mates chain.
