IN THE NEWS:
1998 National FFA Convention
The Franklin FFA Chapter was well represented at the 71st National FFA Convention! Students enjoyed speakers such as Robin Roberts and Baxter Black. The students attending were Michael Lynn Tynes, Melissa Monroe, Samantha Zeigler, Candice Jones, Amanda Shelton, Tabitha Lambert, Bridget Beach, Nathan Steele, John Kelly, and Steve Lofton. Each student learned a lot about the FFA, and what the FFA has to offer. It is great to "Make the Connection" from students to agriculture through the FFA.
1998 Made For Excellence
The Franklin County FFA Chapter had two members attend the Made for Excellence Conference on September 12. They were Michael Lynn Tynes, and John Kelly. Both enjoyed presenters from the National FFA Organization.
FFA Meeting
The first meeting for this year was held on Wednesday, September 9, 1998. We had a great turn out! We had a lot of ideas for our t-shirt that will be entitled "BULLDOG FACES IN MANY PLACES!" Michael Lynn has been working very hard on this, so Franklin can go to National Convention again this year.
1998 Franklin County Livestock Show
Many of the FFA's members exhibited cattle at the Franklin County Fair. Everyone did a great job and is to be commended for a job well done!
