Ivy's BSB Story

[Author's note: I am in no way related to BSB, nor do I have any connection's with them. This story is FICTION, in other words, the people (besides BSB and their families) are made up, and remember, I haven't met the BSB in person, so I have no idea how they act in these same situations. So with that in mind, sit back relax, and enjoy.]

Character list:
Essence DeVarsa: She's 18, and she's African American. She's the oldest of the five, she plays big sister a lot, and she's the sweet one. She has green eyes, black hair, she loves to dance and sing too. She's the manager and choreographer of their dance squad.

Aura Esteban: The second oldest, she's 18, half Filipino, half blck, and she's the sexy one. Her hair is kinda poofy (or fluffy, whichever you want to call it) with a lot of highlights in it. She has wierd ass hazel eyes (or really really really light brown eyes). She's the co-captain of the dance squad, and loves dancing almost as much as Jana does.

Haileeh Yolton: The "middle child" she's 18, she's 3/4 Mexican 1/4 French, she's the cool, nonchalant one. She has blue eyes, and light brown hair that comes down about two inches past her shoulders. She loves dancing, but she loves singing more. She's the 2nd lieutenant of the dance squad.

Jana Sorriano: The second youngest, she's 17, and she's the sassy/crazy one of the five. She's 3/4 Filipino and 1/4 French. SHe has black layered hair, with her bangs (that are parted in the middle and down to her chin) highlighted, and also one section of hair on each side of the middle of her hair. She has gray/silver-purpleish eyes. LOVES dancing, she's the captain/choreographer of the squad.

River Agartua: The baby of the group. She's 1/2 Filipino and 1/2 Mexican, and she's Jana's cousin. She has black, short chin length hair, with her bangs a couple centimeters longer than the rest of her hair. Her bangs are highlighted. She has gray/silver-blueish eyes, and she's the quiet, philosiphical one/ the dreamer. She loves singing and dancing equally and is the first lieutenant.

[Author's note: I know some of you are probably like "What's up with these names?" but I needed names that sounded different from the rest, and also names that would just make you think "wow, she must be a dancer."]

Chapter 1-Aura Esteban

"Hurry up ya damn plane," I cursed to myself.
"I guess somebody's feeling impatient today," my friend Jana Sorriano said to me.
"I'm sorry, I just really don't like planes-freaks me out," I explained. "Besides, I wanna get to Paris for our two manth winter vacation.",br> "I know what you mean," Jana agreed. I could tell by her voice that she too was restless and needed to get to a studio and dance, just like I did. I, by the way, am Aura Esteban, and me, Jana, our three best friends: Haileeh Yolton, Essence DeVarsa and River Agartua, and the rest of our school's dance squad, were ready to get to Paris, where we would spend half of our vacation working on our dance routine and competing, and the other half relaxing and enjoying the sites in Paris.
"Passengers, please return your seats to the upright position at this time and prepare for landing," a voice on the intercom said.
"Finally!" I thought to myself.
"Hey you guys," Haileeh said over the top of Jana's seat.
"What is it Haileeh?" Jana said, looking up at her very best friend.
"Essence told me to tell you guys to remember to meet at the luggage carousel with the rest of the dance squad."
"Alright," Jana said. I smiled. That was just like Essence- always taking care of the five of us.
Of course, it wasn't only the five of us on the dance squad. No way, there were 25 girls in all, all of us lived in the same boarding house at the same performing arts boarding school, all of us excited about the World Dance Finals Competition. Essence was the manager and choreographer, so she also had to keep control of the rehearsals and things. There were maybe three chaperones, one of them the dance squads advisor (she's more like a supervisor), so they would also help out at the rehearsals, but it was mostly Essence who handled everything. Jana, being the captain, helps out at rehearsals too, and she also does a lot, but I have to admit, essense does help out the most.
Well, anyway, more about our little two month vacation... the competition consists of 25 of the world's best dance troupes. We would get there two weeks before the competition, then after the competition the whole team would stay in Paris an additional two weeks. After those two weeks, the team would leave, except for the officers, a.k.a. me, Jana, Haileeh, Essence, and River. THe five of us decided to stay in Paris an additional month since it was senior year, and besides, if we had gone back, then we would have to stay at the boarding house (we can't go hame to our famileis... long story) so we figured that we might as well combine the money we have and stay in Paris together for Christmas.
"Thank you for flying Delta. Enjoy your stay in France!" a voice spoke on the intercom, interrupting my thoughts.
Jana was already up, grabbing her carry on from the overhead compartment. I watched, amazed at how she could have so much energy after this really long flight. But then again, we're talking about someone who once stayed up 48 hours straight, and she didn't even drink any coffee.
"Get your carry on Aura, so we can get off the plane faster," Jana told me.
"Ugh," I responded. My energy was completely drained from my body. "Can you get it for me?" I asked, smiling as sweetly as I could.
"Huh, you're such a lazy ass, Aura," Jana joked, smiling.
"Well, excuse me for not injecting caffeine into my blood stream every morning," I said as I stood up.
River popped out from behind a sear and joined Jana and I in the line to get off the plane.
"Play nice children,"River said as Jana janded me my carry-on.
"Yes mommy," I responded, giggling a bit.
Jana giggled too, and looked towards the back of the plane, just to observe things, I guess. For some wierd ass reason, Jana has this thing where she just kinda looks around the roomor wherever we are and just sorta looks at people. She doesn't stare at them, she just gives them a once over and she'll remember them. Jana has a phorographic memory, so does Essence.
"Hey," I heard her say,"isn't that-"
"Com'n Jana,we're getting off the plane," River interrupted her.
Jana snapped her attention backto the front of the plane, and began to walk forward off the plane...

"Quiet you guys! You guys? Hey you guy, be quiet!" We were by the luggage carousel. Exxence was frantically trying to get us to quiet down so that she and Jana could check if everyone was here, but so far, she wasn't having any luck.
"Yo, you guys, shut up!" Jana yelled (loud enough for everyone within a 5 mile radius to hear). Everyone looked up at her.
"Thank you!" she continued. "Listen, I don't want to yell, but I really need y'all to be quiet, cuz essence has some important announcements to make, ah right? First, let's do roll call numbers. 1!"
"2!" I yelled
"3!" that was river
"4!" that was Haileeh, and it continued on, till number 25, which was Essence.
"All right, all right!" Essence took over. "We got it arranged for all the luggage to be picked up, so it should be at the hotel right now. So let's just get on the bus, move it to the hote., and just chill for the rest of the day. You don't have to stay in the horel, y'all can just go wherever when you have chill time, as long as everyone sticks to the schedule, and you're on time, ah right? So let's get to the bus."
Everyone filed toward the door.Once outside, Jana noticed someone again.
"Hey, there he is again," she said.
"There who is?" Haileeh asked her.
"Hmm?" Jana responded. "Oh, that guy over there with the hat and the shades... see?" she said pointing towards him. "He's standing next to the guy with the beanie."
"I see him," I said.
"What about him Jana?" Haileeh asked.
"Well, I saw him on the plane, and I think I saw him on the cover of one of those Teeny-bopper magazines Khyra always buys," Jana explained. Khyra is Jana's little sister.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
Haileeh looked at me. "Aura, Jana has a photographic memory."
"yeah, i know, but..."
"I get what ya mean Aura," Jana told me. "But I really think I've seen him-"
"Girls are you getting on the bus?" one of the chaperones yelled at us.
"Yeah, sorry," I said and the three of us climbed into the bus.
"Watch out Paris," I thought, "here we come."

So what do you think? I'm almost done with chapter 2, I'll send it to you as soon as I'm done.

Chapter 2:A.J. McLean "Thank God, there's no crowd," Brian said relieved.
"That's cuz the flight was booked last minute," I told him.
"We'd better hurry though, cuz soon their will be a crowd," said Jake, one of our security guards.
"Jake, don't worry about it," Nick said, giving him a slap on the back. "We're in disguises," he finished, shoving on a pair of Ray-bans and did his little "Secret Agent" thing, which set all of us laughing.
"Hey," Kevin said as we neared the luggage carousel,"what's the deal with them?" He said making a head gesture towards a group of girls standing not too far away from us.
"I don't know," I said, looking over at them. All of a sudden the finest girl I had ever seen in my whole life stepped up on something (I'm assuming a suitcase or box). This girl had black layered hair and I noticed it was streaked. Her eyes looked really cool, but I couldn't really tell what color they were from where I was standing. She was wearing a black snowboarding jacker and dark blue super bellbottoms. She was hella fine.
"So, who's got your attention NOW, Romeo?" Howie said, standing next to me.
"That girl over there in front of that one group of girls," I said, "she's fine!!!"
"Yeah, she is kinda cute," he said as the girls started walking out the door, "but I prefer her friend better."
He was referring to the girl that she was talking with. She had shoulder length black hair with a lot of highlights, and her hair looked kinda puffy, and some wierd-ass hazel eyes, they were, like, really really really light brown, kinda like beige or something, but they looked cool.
"Yo A.J.!" Brian yelled to me. "Get your butt over here and get your suicases."
"Ah right, sorry Bri," I apologized to him. I grabbed my suitcases and we walked out of the airport into the freezin cold.
Once we were outside I saw that one fine girl again, and she was kinda away from the rest of the group and with two other girls, one of them was the same one I had seen her with earlier. The other one was also pretty fyne, she had light brown hair, blue eyes, and she was wearing baggy black corduroy pants, a navy blue sweatshirt, and she was wearing a black beanie on her head.
"Yo AJ, our bus is- oh, damn those girls are fyne," Brian joined me. "Especially the one with the beanie."
I laughed. "So you think one of them's fine too?" I asked. "Great, now maybe if we actually talk to one of those girls, you, me, and Howie can hook up with them and go on a triple date or something," I joked.
"Yeah, we'll have time," Brian said sarcastically. "It'lll be even better with the security guards swarming around and the press in our faces." He rolled his eyes.
I laughed. "You never know Bri," I told him. "It could happen, I mean, there weren't even any fans waiting for us at the airport, so you never know, maybe these two months in Paris will be exactly what we need."
Brian sighed. "Yeah, maybe you're right. So, anyway," Brian implored, "which is the one you like?"
I made a head gesture towards the one I liked. "The one with the black snowboarding jacket."
"Wow, she has nice eyes," he said.
"Yup," I agreed. "The view from behind ain't bad either..."
"Hey guys, com'n!" Kevin yelled to us. "Get on the bus, let's go!"
"Ah right, sorry cuz," Brian said, walking towards the bus. I followed him, but not before sneaking one last long look at the firl who had already stolen my heart.

The airport was about a one hour drive away from Paris, and Howie, Nick and Kevin kicked back and got some sleep while Brian and I just kinda talked about stuff... mostly about the girls we had seen.
"So which one did Howie think was cute?" Brian asked me. "The one in the white jeans?"
"Umm, yeah," I said. "Too bad we more than likely won't see them again, though."
"Yeah," Brian agreed. "But they sure did look good."
The two of us were quiet for a few minutes, while visions of the two girls floated in our minds...

"Hey guys, we've reached the hotel!" our bus driver, Phil, yelled back to us.
"All right!" I yelled. I hated not being able to move around, but now that we were finally in Paris, I would be able to walk around, you know, just do whatever. After almost two years of spending most of my time on a cramped tour bus, I was glad to have two months of just doing whatever I felt like doing. Of couse, we would be doing a couple concerts, and also performing at some dance competition or something, but other than that, the rest of the vacation was ours.
Well, the five of us got off the bus, with our suitcases and stuff, which were immediately taken by some hotel staff members. That's one good thing about geing in the entertainment business, you always get the nice hotels.
We got into the hotel, and made our way to the front desk, where we would check in
. "May I heop you sir?" a desk clerk asked Kevin.
"Uh, yes, we have a reservation under the name Wright," Kevin said [Author's note: Just in case you don't know, "Wright" is their managers last name]
"Just a second..." the desk clerk said, as he typed some stuff into his computer. "Oh, yes, suite number 48. How many keys will you be needing?"
"Uh, 5 keys," Kevin said.
"All right then," the clerk said, handing Kevin the keys,"enjoy your stay here at Paris."
"Thank you," said Kevin, and the five of us plus the two staff members with our luggage headed up to the elevator.
Nick, who was walking in front of me, all of a sudden turned to talk to me.
"Hey AJ-" he started, but stopped himself when something behind me caught his attention.
I turned around to see what he was looking at. "What's up Nick?" I asked, turning back towards him.
"That girl over there man," he said to meeh,"she hella fine."
I turned around again. And there I found (surprise, surprise) the fine girl standing at the front dexk, along with the girl Howie liked, the firl Brian liked, and a fourth girl, and I assumed that was the one Nick was gawking at. She had chin length black hair, but the two strands of hair in front were longer than the rest of her hair, and they were highlighted. I couldn't see the color of her eyes, though.,br> "Let me guess," I said to Nick, who hadn't taken his eyes off the girl for even a split second, "it's the one with the big puffy black Nike jacket and blue jeans, right?"
"How'd you know?" Nick asked me, with a quizzical expression upon his face
. "Lucky guess," I answere, shrugging my shoulders. This was honestly getting kinda wierd... but I guess you never know.. love works in mysteerious ways.
I let Nick gawk at that one girl for a few more minutes, I knew he was enchanted by her, just like Brian, Howie and I had been. But when I felt we needed to go, I gor him to snap out of his little trance.
"C'mon Nick," I said. "We really hafta catch up with the others."
"All right," he said.,br> We hurried to catch up with them, each of us taking one more glance at the girls.

Chapter 3- Jana Sorriano

"You guys go and check in while I tell everyone else what's gonna be going on," Miss Vasquez, our advisor/coach told me, River, Aura and Haileeh. Essence would stay behind and help out Miss Vasquez.
So me, Aura, Haileeh and River stepped out of the bus and into the (posh) hotel.
While approaching the front desk, I noticed someone out of the corner of my eye... it was that one guy I had seen in the airport and on the plane.
"Jana, what are you looking at?" my cousin River asked me. She followed my gaze toward the guy (well, at least the back of the guy- he was walking towards ann elevator). "Oh, so THAT'S what you're looking at... hmm, not bad... definitely not bad," she said as she watched him from behind.
"River!" I exclaimed. "Is that the first thing you look at in guys?"
"Come on Jana, be honest," she said, "I know you were looking at his ass too."
"Okay, okay," I confessed. "I was looking, but I wouldn't have said anything. Besides," I continued, ignoring the "yeah right" look River was giving me,"I wasn't looking at him because of that. I might have been looking at it, but that wasn't why I was looking at him."
"Really," River said, unconvinced.
"Really!" I said. "I just think that I saw his face on one of those Teeny Bopper magazines! Come to think of it, his ass looks kinda familiar too..." I joked.
River laughed. "Are you sure it was that guys face-or ass- that you saw?”
I'm pretty sure," I told her. "But then again, I think we would have heard of them or something. Oh well, just forget about it."
"All right," said River.
River and I walked up to the front desk to join Aura and Haileeh.
"Did you guys check in yet?" I asked Haileeh.
"Kinda,"she told me. "They still have to get all the rooms and keys organized and everything."
"It's taking forever," River said.
"River, stop bitching," I told her.
"Great, now I'm bitching," she said, "and i'm gonna bitch some more because..." she trailed off for a second,"who is that fyne ass guy?"
"Where?" Aura, Haileeh and I asked.
"Don't turn around!" River exclaimed, just in time. "I dont' want it to be obvious. Hey, ya know what, I think he's friends with the guy that has a nice ass."
"How do you know?" I asked her.
"Probably because the two of them are talking together, and the guy with the nice ass is looking at you," she observed.
"What!" I exclaimed, "where?" I asked, almost turning my head towards the two guys.
"No, don't turn around!" River said.
"Why not?" I asked her.
"Cuz that'll make it obvious!" she said.
"Wait up," Aura said," who's the guy with the nice ass?" she was facing towards me now, so she was able to see which one he was.
He's the one wearing the hat and shades," River told her.
"Wow," Aura said. "He's pretty fyne."
"Wait up, he's not looking anymore," River said. "Okay, you guys can turn around now."
We turned around. Aura was right, the guy in the hat and shades WAS fyne. I had seen him earlier, but I never really got that good a look at his face. But he really was fyne...
The guy with blond hair looked good too... he was really hella tall, but River likes really, really tall guys for some reason. Me, I just don't care, as long as the guy isn't shorter than me.
"Damn," Haileeh said,"I wonder if they got brothers..." Haileeh said as they walked away...

When all the room assignments had been givin out and everything was finally under control, I finally was able to go up to my room. All the officers had to room together, so naturally, my room mate's were essence, Aura, Haileeh and River. We were staying in suite #46. THere were six suites on one floor, the even numbered suites on one side, and the odd numbered suites on the other side. Next door to us in suite #44 were some of our friends, and they were the only other people we knew on this floor.
The first thing anyone said when we reached the room was,"I'm not staying in the same room as Aura!" Essence had said that.
"Me neither!" Haileeh yelled.
"What's so bad about sharing room with Aura?" River inquired.
"She snores hella loud," Haileeh informed us.
"I'm not staying in the same room as Aura," both River and I then exclaimed in unison.
"Aura looked at us. "I do not snore you guys!" she exclaimed indignantly.
"Yes you do," Haileeh said.
"mmm-hmm," agreed essence, "the last time I shared a room with you, I was scared to even try to sleep cuz I thought you might suck me in."
I laughed. Aura glared at me. I cleared my throat and said,"that's not funny Essence,"
River, being the logical, levelheaded person that she is, spoke up, "why don't you guys stop bitching about it and let Aura have her own room so she can snore as much as she wants... not like she does, or anything," she quickly added with a glance at Aura.
"Sounds good to me," said Haileeh, who is just "whatever", with everything.
"ALl right, well, I'll room with you, Haileeh," I said to her.
"Of course," she said. We always end up rooming with each other since no one really likes sharing a closet with us cuz we alwayze end up hagging most of the closet space.
So that left essence and River to room together. I think they kinda like it that way, even though they aren't, like, total best friends, and they do argue sometimes, but at least they'll get some sleep and some closet space.
So Haileeh and I went into our room, where we started unpacking and talking about things.
"So you likd the guy with the shades?" Haileeh asked, opening one of the drawers.
"Well, I think he's cute, yeah, but I can't say I like him, cuz I've never talked to him," I responded. "Hey," I suggested, "so that we won't get our clothes mixed up, why don't you put your stuff on the right side and I'll put my stuff on the left side, since those are the sides the beds are on?"
"Okay," Haileeh agreed.
The room we were in was nice. It had two queen sized beds, mine was on the left closest to the door. The carpet was a beige color, and we had a door leading out to a balcony. THer was a desk and a TV in the room too.
Essence then burst into the room.
"Oh my gosh, you guys aren't done unpacing yet?" she said astonished.
"No," I said, "so unless you got something important to say, or you wanna help us, get the hell out."
"Damn Jana," essence said. "Well, I was just wondering if you guys wanted to go to this club tonight. I saw it when we were in the bus."
"All right," said Haileeh, "I'm cool with it."
"Jana?" Essence asked.
"Is it 18 and over?" I asked.
"Nope," Essence responded. "The sign in the window said 16 and up."
"All right," I said smiling, "I'm there. What time are we going?"
"Eight o'clock," she responded.
"Gives you time to check out the hotels' dance studio Jana," said Haileeh, reading my mind, as usual. "Yeah, you wanna come?" I asked her.
Haileeh shook her head. "Nah," she said. "I"m kinda tired."
"Aight," I answered. "what about you, essence?" I asked.
"Sure," she responded. "Let meeh just get ready. Want me to ask River?"
Yeah," I answered.
In ten minutes, Essence and I left for the hotels' dance studio. I was wearing a sleeveless black leotard and these gray pants- they were kinda like sweats, only baggier and they didn't cuff in at the bottom. Oh yeah, I also had on a gray beanie and my black Nick sneakers. Essence was wearign black baggy Adidas snap pants and a blue leotard. SHe had a blue beanie and white Adidas shoes. River wasn't coming, she was also tired.
"You wanna work on the dance routine?" I asked Essence.
"Yeah, sure," she said. We still had to figure out the moves for the comepetition. We waited till now because we wanted to find out what kind of music was popular here. "But first let's warm up." She pulled a tape out of her gym bag and popped it into the stereo.
As soon as the tape started, I recognized the music. It was a special mix that Essence and I had made. The tape had all the best dance music and even an intro. You know on Boys II Men's first album when they go, "10, 9, 8, 7, 6-5, 4-3, 2... 1," on their song "Uhh, Ahh." Well, we used this mix the year before, when we got second at this same competition. We would have gotten first, except for this one mistake that I don't like to talk about much.
"Injection time fellas," Mike McCary's deep voice said. [Author's Note: Mike McCary is the guy in Boys II Men with the really deep voice, for those of you who don't know]
Essence and I both launched into the familiar routine, putting every single ounce of energy we had into the dance moves, only stopping when BLACKstreet ended, singing the final notes of No Diggity: "We out, we out."
"That was perfect!" Essence enthused.
"Yeah, it's been awhile," I said.
"Hey, what's this?" she asked, reaching behind the stereo. "Oh, it's a tape."
"Who's it by?" I inquired.
"Uh... the Backstreet Boys, or someting like that," essence said, reading it off the tape.
"Are you sure it's Backstreet Boys," I said, "and not BLACKstreet."
"Yeah, it says right here," she said. "Besides, does BLACKstreet have a song called 'Get Down' or 'I'll Never Break you heart?'"
"No, but have you ever even HEARD of the Backstreet Boys?" I asked.
"No, but maybe that's because we don't get MTV at the boarding school, and those dumb ass radios never say the artists' names after they play the songs."
"Oh, weel play the tape," I told her, "maybe they have some nice dance tunes, or something."
"All right," she said. "Hey, it's not rewound all the way, yah want me to rewind it?"
"Nah, just play it," I said, "they could be some alternative group or something."
So Essence played the tape. As soon as it played, some voices came from the speakers going:
"Woah-oh-oh. Woah-oh-oh. Boys Will Be Boys."
"They sound like New Kids On THe Block," Essence commented.
"Yeah, or the background singers for Vanilla Ice," I added.
"My heart, starts pumpin..." saing the voice in the tape.
"Well, the guy singing right now does have a pretty nick voice," I commented.
"Yeah, and the beat isn't that bad..." Essence trailed off.
The two of us looked at each other and at the same time immediatly started danceing to the music, while at the same time watchin ourselves in the mirror, seeing which dance moves worked the best.
"My bodies calling for yah, so please don't hesitate," came another voice from the tape.
"WHAT!!!" Essence exclaimed. "This song is horny."
I laughed. "well, then we'll do some horny moves, I like this song, it has a strong beat," I said.
The two of us kept dancing until the song finally ended.
"All right," Essence said, rewinding the tape, "let's work on the choreography."
