OWEN HART TRIBUTE PAGE
Owen Hart
May 7, 1965-May 23, 1999
I never knew him, but I and millions of others watched him die. He didn't have to do the stunt, but he wanted to entertain the fans. Perhaps this is why wrestling fans around the world are taking his death so hard, because we feel he died for us. To the Hart family, I know that no amount of condolences can undo what has happened. Yet I offer one more anyway.
Fans can make contributions in Owens's name to his favorite charity at the following address:
Owen Hart Memorial Fund
Alberta Children's Hospital
1820 Richmond Rd, S.W.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
T2T 5C7
Both Mankind and The Rock have very sweet tributes to Owen in their respective books. Both wrestlers obviously had a great deal of respect and love for Owen, and their tributes share a side of Owen that the fans didn't often get a chance to see.

The pain you feel as your eyes swell
and the tears fill up in the well.
the burn starts to choke you up
as words come out slow and shaken.
You close your eyes and wonder why
there's a burning when you cry.
When Owen left,
it felt like hands around my throat.
I couldn't talk. I couldn't see.
The burn overwhelmed me.
My heart is heavy. This is why
you get the burn when you cry.
You dig down deep. You cannot sleep.
You toss and turn in your sheets.
Awaken with sobs and wet pillowcases.
You wander aimlessly, look into the sky.
You feel the burn when you cry.
