DARK SHADOWS FOREVER

Hi everyone and welcome to my Dark Shadows page...To those of you who don't know...Dark Shadows was a 60's Gothic Soap with vampires, werewolves, witches, haunted houses and the list goes on and on... I made this page and wrote the poems as a tribute to Dark Shadows, Dan Curtis, the stars, and the many fans including myself...who watched, loved, and shall always remember Dark Shadows forever. My favorite charater/actor was Barnabus/Jonathan Frid...the kind, loving gentleman who fell pray to the witch's curse to become a vampire...and roam the earth as one of the living dead...Enjoy and if you have questions or comments...E-mail me...I would love to hear from you. :)

Haunted
(A Visit To Collinwood)
© 1998 by Dorothy Marie Neal Manley

If you stand quietly
On top of Widow's Hill.
You can hear the widows,
They are weeping still.

You know the vampire's restless,
When the dogs begin to howl.
If the moon is full,
There's a werewolf on the prowl.

If in the distance you hear laughter,
That makes your blood run cold,
If you feel your body's not your own,
Then, the witch now has control.

If you hear strange sounds,
Or screams out in the hall,
If you see eerie shadows,
Moving across the wall,

It's just some of the ghosts,
That roam here every night.
Don't forget this house is haunted,
It'll give you quite a fright.

Josette's Fate
© © 1998 by Dorothy Marie Neal Manley

A young girl died one night,
She jumped from Widow's Hill,
Into the chilly waters below.

Her beloved tried to save her,
But he could not change her fate.
He ran crying, calling her name,
But he got there much too late.

Her life had become unbearable.
It was filled with so much pain.
Death had taken her only love,
But now he'd rose again.

He was now one of the living dead,
A creature of the night.
He must spend eternity in darkness,
Never to see the light.

She could not bear to see him suffer.
Now, she could never become his wife.
She found no reason to go on living,
So on that night, Josette took her life.
