Yesterday I was born
                                              And you took care of me:
                                              You taught me to walk,
                                              To read, to think.
                                              You picked me up
                                              When I fell down,
                                              You praised my accomplishments,
                                              And punished my mistakes.
                                              Tomorrow I will leave you:
                                              I am an adult
                                              With a life of my own.
                                              Soon I'll have a job
                                              And a family of my own.
                                              Parent and teacher,
                                              Child and student;
                                              Just like you.
