What does the game involve ? :- Being Part of a Touring Car team and driving one of the teams' cars. You
compete in the 1997 TOCA Touring Car Championship and if win the Touring Car Championshop you can compete in the TOCA Showdown. You compete at twice at
12 Venues, thus 24 Rounds. There are 9 different tracks and so 3 and repeated. To win the Touring Car Championship you must earn the right to race at
the next venue you require 20 points per 2 venues to race, thus to win the Championship you must have at least 220 points to race at the final meeting.
Qualifying for the race comes before the running of the race and Qualifying in pole position earns an extra point. Points are award for finishing the race
in any position above 11th. The points system goes from 15 Pts for 1st to 1 Pt for 10th.
Points are deducted from the points gained during a race if you are warned too many times for for dangerous driving
Tips :-
Watch out for Anthony Read and David Leslie they seem to knock everyone
off all the time it's best to make sure you not one of their casulties.
Try not to make any rash overtake minouvres on the last lap unless really neccessary, eg when overtaking backmarkers
wait until your certain you can get past without any problems unless under pressure for your place.
Alain Menu is generally unbeatable unless you are really good in this game, but if you drive the Renault car he
doesn't have a car to drive and can't beat you!
Learn the tracks and work out the best places to over take.
When at Thruxton be very careful on the flat out sections one touch from another car or one wiggle from the rear
of the car can send you spinning out try and feel when the car is slipping away and try and stop it by slowing down a little,
it is difficult to get back up to speed quickly and you end up losing about 25 seconds for one off on the flat out stages, less time is lost
for the slower areas as its easier to get back on the course.
A car is only disabled when its on its roof and that's when you get the message to say that the
driver has retired, when your car is on its roof it will flip back over but it takes time and while thats
happening your losing places.
Try to avoid hitting those arrow markers you will probably loose a lot of time and therefore places.
Learn your tracks and you'll quickly learn some shortcuts and easy passing manoeuvres!
At Croft don't Qualify higher than 9th or Qualify in Pole, on every Championship match I've played
the first 8 or so get knocked off on the first corner, try to avoid this on the first lap and you may
lead with Tim Harvey or the Vauxhall's in front!
It is far easier to overtake during braking rather than flat out when the performance of the cars
are more closely matched.
When your lap time come up as a fastest laps you will find that you catch other cars very quickly,
if your laps times are worst than the previous lap you can lose time on harder race settings.
Many cars close together generally move slowly and block each other all the time, it is far easier
to pass cars when they are close together rather than far apart. Don't worry if you get passed by another car
on the easy setting, the car infront will probably get caught in traffic at lap 6 or so when the tail is caught.
Laping traffic means a loss of up to 8 seconds a lap, so try and pass quickly and effeciently without being knocked
off the track!

Type in your name as the following, once activates the cheat mode,
typing the same cheat again deactivates. I have given you description of what some of the cheats do, well I wasn't going to
tell you what all of them do, it does spoil the fun a bit and you're not that lazy are you! :
CMSTARS - Creates Weather Based effects
CMMICRO - Works like your driving looking down the car from an airship or helicopter, also makes all cars the same size,
as those in Micromachines based games
CMCOPTER
CMTOON - Gives the effect that you driving in a Cartoon
CMHANDY
CMFOLLOW
CMUPSIDE - A cheat for all Austrailians it turns everything upside down
CMRAINUP - Gives you a new track called LAVALAND, in which FIRELORD holds the
fastest lap, this track is actually quite hard as you can't see the corners as the
200, 100 and 50 meter boards are missing. Although driving round a volcano is fun!
CMNOHITS - Ideal for Anthony Read, the car's properties have been changed and
it is possible to drive straight through other cars therefore you can't get knocked
off - but although you can drive straight through other cars, they can do the same to
you!
If all else fails then drive 'dirty' and drive the wrong way round the track and try to put your
nearest championship competitor on his roof, remembering that the cars on the roof are 'disabled'.
But you will get warned for dangerous driving.
