Pain

Scully did some serious thinking. Of her six children, Missy and Samantha were the most normal. But they had an unfair advantage. She had raised them and they weren't old enough to really be corrupted. Yes, she came across as a sucky mother, but she taught her small daughters everything they knew. She taught them how to talk and walk, she taught them the alphabet and that "Elemenohpee" wasn't one letter, as they had previously thought. She taught them not to talk to strangers wearing sunglasses and why it was a bad idea to wake up their sisters in the morning. She taught them a few morals that their young minds could hold and she also taught them about Halloween.

Dani and Téa. It wasn't fair to judge the latter half of the pair, so she stuck with Dani. Dani was okay. She was short, which was a plus. She was also very intelligent, but didn't think before she spoke, leapt, or mixed chemicals. She also instigated some crazy ideas, and facilitated the ideas that belonged to Maggie and Sarah. She enjoyed exploring her own spirituality, and never really did anything to shame her parents.

Maggie and Sarah were not always psychotic. In fact, when she and Mulder had first found them, they had cried and allowed themselves to be comforted by their parents. They were simply very hyper and very funny. They had no shame and did what made them happy. Maggie could be the loving, doting, clingy, whiny daughter sometimes even though Sarah liked called her parents Dah-dee and Dana, though Maggie stuck firmly to Daddy and Mommalee. They made strange food items that were often either lethal or really good, and they had a knack for making people laugh. Like when Sarah threw peas down Maggie's shirt.

Her children weren't as crazy as they came across, and she wondered about the next. Mulder insisted that they were progressivly getting more normal with depleating age, but Scully thought that Maggie and Sarah were a little bit more "touched" than Dani and Téa, though sometimes, it was a close tie.

And now, wracked with birthing pains, she worried. Another child at the Mulder family dinners. What would this one be like? Small and sweet? Loud and obnixious? She was petrified. Would this one call her Dana or Mommy? Would it dress in all black, in lab coats, or in normal clothing? More importantly, would it be paranoid like it's father or would it be an anarchist. Most importantly, would it be born on the damn plane?

She hoped not.

She suddenly look up and called out in a high, frightened voice, "Who's flying the plane?"

Mulder looked up. "Oh shi..."
