“Wow, I can’t believe you hijacked a plane!” Sam cried in awe, sitting next to her sister on the floor.
The Christmas Tree with the menorah on top twinkled in the firelight.
“Yeah,” Dani agreed. “It was pretty amazing.”
The entire Mulder clan sat in the thippEt parlour. Tea flew in from Texas the day before.
“Charlie, I can’t believe how big you are!” Maggie cried.
Charlie glared at his twenty seven year old sister. “Leave me alone,” he said.
“Ohhh, you’re so hormonal! You hate me, don’t you?” Maggie asked, speaking to him the way she did back when he was still a baby.
“Mo-om!” Charlie yelled. “Make her stop!”
“Maggie, leave your brother alone,” Scully said. She was holding Hydro on her lap. Stinky was sleeping on Sarah’s lap, and Ella was curled up next to Missy. Casper was draped around Dani’s shoulders, and Miss Havisham was sleeping on Maggie’s feet. It was a very homey scene.
“Hey, remember how when Mom was pregnant with Charlie she used to eat onions all the time?” Sarah suddenly blurted out.
Maggie laughed. “And how we got Ella ‘cause Mom and Dad had to bribe us to go to Missy and Sam’s christening?”
“And how Ari wanted to have sex with a banana?” cried Dani.
“EWWWW!!!!” everyone shouted. “ARI!”
It was silent for a minute. “Remember when Dani got unfolded?” Scully asked quietly.
“And the ill-fated walk to Walgreens?” Mulder chimed in.
Maggie started laughing hysterically. “AND THE TIME ARI DIED?!?!?!”
Everyone cheered.
Then it was silent again. “The day we found Ratboy,” Sarah said.
“Putting on The Sound of Music,” Maggie remembered fondly.
“When you found me,” Tea said.
“Heaven and Hell,” Dani reminded them.
“So many memories,” Scully said fondly. “I’ve missed everyone so much. Missy, Sam and Charlie are so…well…normal. And sane. Hardly anything exciting happens, unless an FBBN case accidentally follows Sam and Missy home…then things get kind of hectic. I miss the insanity.”
“Thanks, Mom,” Tea said. “I always thought you hated us.”
“I did,” Scully said. “But I don’t anymore.”
“Awww!!!” the girls cried.
The phone rang.
They all got very still.
“I’ll get it,” Dani whispered…
