Way Wicked More Interesting, Yo

by Maggie Mulder

"More new neighbors?" Dani whined. "Can't we just scare them into leaving?"

"Let's just be nice," Scully said.

T'was a hot, sunny Tuesday in May. The Mulder clan was gathered on the fron porch, watching the new neighbors move in. By what they had gathered, there were two parents, two adolescent pairs of twin girls, a pair of very young twin girls and a baby who couldn't have been more than a few weeks old. They heard distant honks, quacks, meows and a moo a few times.

"This is way wicked trippy, yo," Sarah said. Maggie kicked her in the shins and whispered something about a copyright law.

"Vamos!" Maggie cried suddenly, and led the family across the street. Maggie rushed up to a girl who looked to be about her age. Maggie's long, red hair flew behind her and swished violently when she came to an abrupt halt, a few feet away from the girl. "Hi!" she cried in a funny voice. "My name is Maggie, what's yours?"

"Karen," the girl replied. "This is my twin sister Ashley," she said, pulling a girl who looked a lot like Sarah up beside her. "But we go by Karrie and Brynnian."

The families all stood face to face. Sarah cleared her throat. "Hiya, yo. We're the Mulder's. Here we are." She began to point to everyone individually. "Fox, Mulder, call him Mulder, Dana our Mommalee, DanicallmeDani, Téa the Hick, me dumb, Maggie dumber, Missy, Sammie, Charlie. At home, we have a goose named Stinky, a duck named Ella and a cat named Miss Havisham."

Sarah's counterpart cleared her throat. "Hiya, yo. We're the Duchovney's. Here we are. David our padre, Gillian Anderson herself, Amanda-don't-call-her-Mandy, Katherine the Hick, me dumb, Karrie dumber, Piper Maru, Madeline West, Walter. At home, here, we have a goose named Lucy, a duck named Queequeg, a cat named Puppy and a cow named Elsie."

"Can we get a cow?" Mulder's four eldest daughters chorused.

"Later," Scully said, smiling at this Gillian character who held a Walter in her arms. "Hi, Dana Scully-Mulder. Welcome to the neighborhood."

Gillian smiled back. "Thanks, it's great to be here."

"Yo," Karrie finished for her.

"Raaaa!" Amanda suddenly yelled. "I forgot my canned air."

"We have some," Maggie and Sarah said together eerily. "Wanna see our lab?"

"Yeah!" cried Amanda, Karrie and Brynnian.

The girls led their new friends back to the house with Téa and Katherine discussed the "old west".

Dani, Maggie and Sarah led the girls into the basement, where there were tables with tubes and various other equipment, empty boxes of lime green jello, and assortment of weaponry on the walls, framed pictures of mutants and convicts, and every birth certificate that the twins had aquired through their years in governmental foster care. "WOW!" Amanda cried. "This is better than canned air!"

Karrie and Brynnian abruptly knocked over a vial full of green liquid when they tried to play with it. Across the room, Maggie and Sarah had done the exact same thing.

"I have a bad feeling about this," Maggie said lowly.

"Why is that, Obi-Wan?" Sarah asked with a grin.

"Because, Master, they seem kinda...I dunno, Doppelgangerish."

"There's only one way to find out," Sarah said. "Now, for the control of the experiment." She reached down and tapped Maggie's knee. Maggie shrieked and jumped a mile. She hated when her knees or feet were touched.

"Very good," Sarah said and strolled over to Karrie to touch her knee. Karrie jerked slightly. "Not the same reaction!" Sarah called back. "Sorry, McBeaneroo."

Karrie selismed.

"You know how to selims??" Maggie shrieked. "How do you know?"

"We're big fans of yours," Brynn admitted. "We follow your lives religiously. Just us three."

"More admirers," Dani said, fanning herself off. "My, will the attention ever cease?"

"Doubtfully," Maggie said.

A cow mooed. Two pairs of twins began mooing hysterically. Dani and Amanda traded genetic information. "Wow," Amanda said appreciativly.

"Wow!" cried Dani. "You're human?"

"Sadly," Amanda replied, looking very upset.

"S'okay, I'll give you some blood one night when the moon is full."

Amanda brightened. "Great!" she cried.

After the Duchovney's left, Dani, Sarah and Maggie all glanced at each other. "Whaddaya think?" Dani asked.

"I think our lives just got a whole lot more interesting," Maggie said with a smile after hearing a loud boom and seeing a cloud of blue smoke pour from a bedroom window across the street. "Way wicked more interesting, yo."
