Congratulations to the above winners! Winners are being contacted through e-mail. A very special thank-you to everyone who entered, and also to our voters. A lot of voters had a hard time deciding...one voter said, "Wow, this was really, really hard for me to decide....and it took me a looong time to listen to them all - all gave a great effort. Congrats to the winner. This was a great contest!" Although this contest is now over, you can still hear all of our entrants singing their favorite Jaci songs. The songs are digitized in RealAudio format. If you click on a song link and nothing happens or you get an error message, you will need to download the latest player for your computer (it's free).

I am a 12 year old female. I chose "Al Mundo Dios Amó" because "God So Loved" sounds so beautiful in Spanish and I like singing it. This song means so much to me because it always reminds me of how much God loves me, and when I feel like no one understands me I know He understands me and will always be there for me. Where I go to school it's hard to find kids who are Christian so sometimes it's really hard for them to understand why I can't do certain things they do and why I believe in what I believe in. So this song always ministers to me. I sang this song live with the accompany track at the church I go to. It was recorded and edited by a friend who made it into a CD for me. He then converted the song to mp3 format and put it on the net. [Note: it is now in RealAudio G2 format like the other songs]

I'm a 13 year old girl, and I chose "Flower in the Rain" because it is a very powerful and meaningful song. It means a lot to me because I know there was a time and still sometimes now that I cry out those words asking Him to break me and show me what to do. I really love this song. For the music, I used a sound track and for back-up, my 11 year old female friend sang. We did it in an awful rush (had to), but we prayed the anointing of God on it.

(23 year old female) Sometimes I find myself sad for no reason trying to find things that can ease my sadness. I felt so alone and that no one understands -- I'm so tired of daily routine. But when I heard this song "I Will Rest in You," I realized that God hasn't left me -- He's with me all the time. Too many times I get occupied with my daily routine and I don't give Him my silent time. God is never gonna leave me, He's with me all the time. He knows the pain and He knows them all. Even though sometimes I think that He's not there, He never left, I was the one that was far from Him. "I Will Rest in You" is a very powerful song as is "On My Knees." I listen to this song over and over again and I feel God's peace.

I am 14 years young of the female gender. I chose to sing "God So Loved" because it talks about the love we get from God, and the precious gift He gave us, Jesus Christ. That's what the song means to me, and plus it's one of my favorite songs. I recorded it by myself in the living room with the performance track, with background vocals, playing from the stereo.

I am 35 years old and male. I chose "God So Loved the World" because it was the first song I heard by Jaci on Wow 1999 and I really like the words and music and the message. It means that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life -- and it really inspires me (the song). I recorded the song at a recording studio (in a house) with the accompaniment tape.

I am a 7 year old girl. "On My Knees" is one of my favorite songs. I chose to sing this song because Jaci sings it beautiful and pretty and I want to sing like her. I also chose it because it reminds me to pray to God and to get on my knees wherever I go. I made this song with my karaoke machine and my big sisters helped me record it.

I am a 15 year old female. I chose the song "God So Loved" because I love the message to both non-Christians and Christians who need a reminder and some encouraging that God loves them and proved it through His Son. To me, this song means that God loves us so much and so unconditionally that I can let go of any problems and allow His love to "carry me away." If anyone believes in His son, God will take him in as His child and give him eternal life. I seem to complain about my life often, but when I remember God's promise and His Son's suffering which is for everyone, I am so encouraged. I made this song using the studio series accompaniment track "God So Loved" with my karaoke machine.

I'm a 13 year old female: I was lead to sing "Speak for Me" because of the major impact it had on me the very first time I heard it. This song plainly proclaims a pure desire to let the Lord sing for you, and speak His words through you to show the world a wonderful picture of His love for them. I have loved to sing for the Lord since I was 4 years old, but couldn't find the courage to sing in front of people. But now, through this song, God has used Jaci to give me a renewed strength. Now I know it is not I, but the Lord who sings for me, if I will just let go and give everything to Him. I bought the accompaniment track a couple months before I heard about this contest, I was so strengthened by this song I felt God wanted me to sing it at church.

"I Will Rest in You" (sung through accompaniment track) Glory, honor, and power to our Lord Jesus Christ! I am a 20 year old female from ... California. I chose the song, "I Will Rest in You" because that is my daily prayer to the Lord. God's Word says in Isaiah 40, "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." Praise God for His promises! I stand on that promise! When I am in the dark, and cannot seem to find my way, I know that constantly My God is watching over me.... I know that I can "rest in Him." This song is my strength, my hope, and my prayer!

Hello! I'm 16 years old, and I'm a female. I chose this song because it's my favorite song from Jaci's second album. This song touched me when I first heard it. My friend and I have the desire to go evangelize, but the only thing stopping me is that I don't know the exact words to say, and listening to this song makes me think, "what do I really have to offer?" I pray every night asking the Lord "what do I do?" I always ask Him to speak for me, because He's the only One who knows the exact words to say, so I know that by praying and meditating in the Lord, He will show me what to say.

The song I chose was "I Promise" because I have learned since I was a little girl of God's love. Both of my parents went to the seminary, and my father is the pastor of ... [a] Methodist church.... I am 15 years old.... I am in the 10th grade. Since I was little I have loved to sing to the Lord, my mom said "you have to honor the gift that He has given to you," so when I heard that song with Jaci Velasquez, I said: "This is for You, Lord. I dedicate my life to You." This summer I asked my mom if she could take me to Nashville to see Jaci Velasquez so she can hear me sing. She said maybe next year, then surfing the net I found out about this contest, and I am taking this opportunity. I don't know if it will take me to see Jaci, but I enjoyed doing it. I don't have a fancy tape recorder, so I did it on a small one and I was listening to the tape on a portable recorder. God bless.

[Our only group entry:] Age ranges from 16 years of age to 19, all male gender. Why "Shelter Me"? We chose "Shelter Me" for its religous value and the way it based its outlook on the fact that God, the Almighty Father, is always upon us. What it means to us: The song means that life can go on and continue on the righteous path even at your darkest moment or times of despair. How it was made: We made it on a studio microphone that dropped the lyrics onto a "dat" machine, and then into the computer as a digitized e-mail file. The song was done acapella with no musical accompaniment. In Christ,...
