On the night of October 20, 2006, Jeremy was enroute
to a "shots fired" call to provide backup to a fellow officer.
Something made him perform an evasive move at which time
his vehicle left the road. The vehicle came to rest on
it's side between two trees on Feathers Chapel Road
in Fayette County, TN
Jeremy was killed instantly upon impact.

~ Patrolling the Streets of Gold ~
When I passed from this life into the next
I was carried through the gates by the Son of Man.
As I looked at him he wiped away my tears,
It was then that I noticed my wounds were healed.
As my eyes turned forward I saw the streets of gold.
He gently placed my feet upon the street.
As I looked down I noticed my shoes were gone;
I stood with bare feet on Heaven's road.
I also noticed that my weapon was now gone;
My bullet proof vest as well as my cuffs are missing.
My badge was replaced by one of solid gold.
At first I looked at him in puzzlement...
Then I knew that I will never have need
To use those tools of my trade that
I had carried for many years...
For now I Patrol the Streets of Gold.

To My Darling Jackie,
You were and always will be my soulmate,
in death, just as you were in life.
When you are sad and feeling all alone,
simply remember all the joyous and wonderful
moments we spent together and do not shed tears of sorrow.
For I am now patrolling the streets of gold and
I will be seeing you in all of the tomorrows!
As I walk along the golden lanes, I spot a haze of purple shades.
I smile, remembering the day I gave them to you and how you
reacted as if you were in a daze.
These are for you my sweet darling,
stop looking so amazed!
Love Always,
Jeremy
