I want to share with you something that happened
the day of Linda's memorial service. The family blanket
of flowers had 5 pillar candles (representing Mother and
her 4 living children) lit and burning throughout
the majority of the service. That was soon to change...

After the readings, the minister returned to the podium
and stated how Linda's departure was similar to that
of Paul's. How Paul wasn't ready when God orginally
asked him if he was ready and how Linda wasn't ready
either during the last few months of her life.

During his closing the minister repeated,
"and again God ask Paul are you ready?"
and Paul replied, "Yes, I am now ready"...
It was at this very moment that the smallest
(Linda is the baby of the family), of the 5 candles
went out, as if right on que. It was if it had been
planned, or so numerous people thought.

The family was totally unaware this had happened until
that night after the funeral was over. Apparently, the
candle going out stunned many and had a profound affect
on the ones who witnessed this apparition.

I took the picture right after the service, unaware that
only four of the candles were burning. Three on the left
and only one on the right. The candle above the pink lillie
is the one that extinquished itself). Days later I
checked the photo and realized it was true.

    Linda was now ready....

    Linda's Light

Linda was diagnosed with stage IV cancer, non small cell
adenocarcinoma primary lung, on June 4, 2004.
Linda fought a long, hard and courageous battle and
surprised many doctors with her will to live. She was always
full of life and shared that love of life with many friends
and relatives. One of her last instructions to her family
and friends was to "Remember the Good Times!" We miss her
kindness and her smiling face. She leaves us with her
beautiful daughter Marlee, and a million fond memories.

    My Sweet Linda Carol,
The following poem is for you.
I will love and carry you in my heart always...
    Your 'sissy' always,
    Suzette

~If love could have saved you...you would have lived forever~

    "The Last Unicorn"

    When the last eagle flies
    Over the last crumbling mountain,
    And the last lion roars
    At the last dusty fountain,
In the shadow of the forest
Though she may be old and worn,
    They will stare unbelieving
    At the Last Unicorn.

When the first breath of winter
    Through the flowers is icing,
And you look to the north
And a pale moon is rising,
And it seems like all is dying
And would leave the world to mourn,
    In the distance hear her laughter;
It's the Last Unicorn ...I'm alive... I'm alive!

When the last moon is cast
Over the last star of morning,
    And the future is past
Without even a last desperate warning,
Then look into the sky where through
The clouds a path is formed,
    Look and see her how she sparkles;
    It's the Last Unicorn...I'm alive... I'm alive!

    A Message From Linda

To my wonderful friends and family,
There are some things I'd like to say,
But first of all to let you know,
    That I arrived Ok.

    I'm writing this from Heaven,
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there are no more tears or sadness,
    There is just Eternal Love.

    Please do not be unhappy,
Just because I'm out of sight,
Just remember that I'm still with you,
    Every morning, noon and night.

The day I had to leave you,
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me,
And He said "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again,
You were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest friends and family,
They will be here later on.

I need you here so badly,
As part of My big plan,
There's so much we need to do,
    To help our mortal man.

Then God gave me a list of things,
He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list of mine,
It is to watch and care for you.

And I will be beside you,
Every day and week and year,
And when you are sad, I'm standing there,
    To wipe away your tear.

And when you lie in bed at night,
The day's chores put to flight,
God and I will be close to you,
In the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth,
    And all those loving years,
    Because you are only human,
They are bound to bring some tears.

But do not be afraid to cry,
    It does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers,
    Unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you,
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you,
    You wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain,
Though my life on earth is oe'r,
I am closer to you now,
    Than I ever was before.

And to my so many friends,
Trust in God Who knows what is best,
I'm still not far away from you,
    I'm just beyond the crest.

There are some rocky roads ahead for you,
    And many hills to climb,
But together we can do it,
Just by taking one day at a time.

    It was my philosophy,
And I would like for it to be yours to,
That as you give unto the world,
So the world will give back to you.

If you can help someone else,
Who is in sorrow or in pain,
Then you can say to God at night,
My day was not in vain.

    And now I am contented,
That my life was worth while,
Knowing as I passed along the way,
I made someone crack a smile.

    So if you meet someone,
Who is down and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick them up,
As on your way you go.

When you are walking down the street,
And you have me on your mind,
I'll be walking in your footsteps,
Just a half a step behind.

Now when you feel that gentle breeze,
Or the wind upon your face,
That's me giving you a great big hug,
    Or just a soft embrace.

And when it's time for you to go,
From your body to be free,
    Remember you are not going,
For then you will be here with me.

And I will always love you,
From that land way up above,
We'll be in touch again soon,

    Linda Carol
