Canadian show = Canadian bands -- sometimes -- so don't be afraid to use the Canadian sites -- the exchange rate works out great for US and Canucks. US buyers take about 30% off those CDN Dollar prices, so your credit card statement is sure to make you smile!

EBAY! Don't be afraid to try the auction sites, especially Ebay. At any given time, there is a listing for just about any LFN band you can think of -- and if you're the only one looking and bidding, you can really get some great deals. I highly recommend registering and learning how to participate in the auctions, it looks intimidating, but it's really easy and fun.
Why Imports Take So Long, from Music Imports, July 2000:
"When you place an order with us we send it to the distributors who in turn
send it out to the label. That label will have a certain quota to reach
before they begin a pressing. How quickly they reach that quota will be
determined by the popularity of the title.
We give them max 8 weeks to come up with it. If they don't which happens
quite a bit with "hard to find" titles then the order is said to "elapse"
meaning we come back to you and ask if you want to reorder. Many many times
we will get it 2nd time around or sometimes it will take 3-4 times of
reordering to acquire the title. In fact we have waited 8 months to fulfill
a title but the customer had been looking for 5 years !and was extremely
happy.
With regards to Mandalay, we have many orders for this title and have so far
been unable to fill them but this means other import companies are unable to
fill them also. We all have the same sources. Now if you order from another
source and get the title in a week or weeks we too will fill them in the
same time.
Please know we would love to fill orders the moment it's placed, but unfortunately that is not possible in the collectable business.
We would sell 10 times what we are selling now :) "
