- MS State Prison Information--If you are a RESIDENT of the state, they will give you up to one hour of free search time. NON-RESIDENTS are charged $15 for the one hour search time. (subject line= search request) Give as many details as you have..they require your snail address, they only correspond by snail mail...if they find anything whey will send you a summary of what they found and the cost of copying. It runs 40 cents a page and $2.00 for postage and handling. It seems prison records, even those from the turn of the century, are restricted and can't be viewed. You must send a written request and they will see if the record can be copied. For Out of state, it can get expensive in a hurry if you do not know the exact day, month, and year.
