Classroom Rules
In General:
Be on time, be on task, be prepared! Demonstrate respect for yourself, teachers, other students and persons and for property. Behave appropriately at all times.
Specific Rules
Come to class on time with the necessary materials. You must be in your seat and ready to work when the second bell rings to be counted on time.
Begin the “focus question” or “start up” activity within 1 minute after the second bell.
Attend to personal needs before coming to class. Do not ask for a pass unless you have a true emergency.
Follow the teacher's directions immediately. Use polite speech and body language.
Do not eat in class unless you have been given special permission.
Talk only when permitted. Raise your hand if you have questions.
Do not bring cell phones, iPods, CD or DVD players, etc..
Be honest! Do not cheat. Both the student who shares his work for an independent assignment AND the person who copies it will suffer the same consequences. I expect you to do your own work and to be sure no one can copy it. A lab report is an individual work, from the introduction to the bibliography.
Keep me happy and I'll do a better job for you!
Consequences
The rule is broken once: Verbal warning and conference with the student if necessary.
The rule is broken a 2nd time: Detention (recess or lunch)
The rule is broken a 3rd time: After school detention and principal informed
The rule is broken a 4th time: Note to parents and other actions
Additional consequences for rules 7 and 8
Rule # 7: cell phones, iPods, CD or DVD players, etc. will be given to the principal.
Rule # 8: The student(s) will obtain a zero in the given work. If this behavior repeats, parents will be notified and a copy of the note will go to the student’s file.
