Author's Notes: I'm not even into country music but for some reason several of these pieces have a distinct 'new country' feel.
p.s. 'double down' is a term, usually used in blackjack, I think.  It basically means to double your bet.

Ezra
Time to stop lookin' over your shoulder
Time to stop not trustin' a soul
Don't take for granted life's second chances
Let someone else take a little control.
You've drifted 'round from town to town
Feet are movin' soon as you hit the ground
Pray Aces high when the valley is low
But now you're runnin' out of places to go
Wink of an eye and a twist of fate
To yank you from your sorry state
Don't have to play that singular spade
Been dealt the six don't throw it away.
Ain't nothin' wrong with needin' somebody
World's cold enough, don't face it alone
Don't be afraid to let down your heart guard
What's so bad about havin' a home.
What mama taught you has kept you alive
But is it livin' when it's mostly contrived?
Date Destiny and you'd best show respect
She'll pay your devils when they come to collect
And now she thinks you've got a conscience in need
She'll offer once so you better take heed
There's Lucky Seven to double your bet
Wager yourself and she'll do the rest.
