THE INTRO...

My favorite kind of fan fiction is a well-written and believable X-File with characterizations that you would see from watching the show. Plus, lots and lots of UST. This is not to say that they always have the same relationship that they do on the show--Mulder and Scully can be physically involved, as long as they still act like themselves. (Some would argue that that is a contradiction in itself, but as a Shipper I believe those two things can coexist.)

I do like other kinds of fanfic--well written smut is another favorite of mine. It's hard to keep those fully within character, so I'm a little more lenient, but anything I like is always well written. Rest assured that anything posted in this section is the best of what I've read out there. In all cases, I have tried to indicate as clearly as possible what you can expect from a certain work, whether by the section it is found under or by its summary.

YOU SHOULD KNOW...

This is not an archive. I will not be archiving any of these stories, nor will I be linking to where they are archived. This is simply a list of my favorite fanfic. I haven't read everything out there, but this is the best of what I've read. I don't presume that I have the same taste as everyone or anyone else--and I have very particular tastes, but if I can help someone not have to wade through a ton of badfic to get to one good work, my goal will be accomplished. I know that you can find any of my suggestions at The Gossamer Project, Ephemeral, Chronicle X, or Xemplary. Anything you see that is novel length (200K or more), can most likely be found at The Annex. For the works that I know aren't at those places, I've tried to provide links to where you can find them.

YOU SHOULD ALSO PROBABLY BE AWARE THAT...

I'm a strict Mulder/Scully Phile. If you see any romance occuring with either of those characters in my suggestions, it will be between the two of them. I won't promise that I won't stray at times if something is really good (and as long as M & S get together at the end), but that rarely, if ever, happens. So other M & S Onlys out there, you're safe here.
