Scully has lied to protect Mulder, who is not really dead. Mulder visits Scully in her darkened bedroom as she strips. Kritschgau tells Mulder that he could get him what Mulder wants most, and instead of saying something about Samantha, Mulder replies, "A cure for Scully's cancer?" Good to know he has his priorities sorted out. Scully collapses.

A Shipper's dream. Scully is in the hospital; Mulder angsts out. Skinner questions Mulder as to why Scully lied for him (he seems a little too concerned about that, if you ask me). Lots of hand kisses, forehead kisses and crying by bedsides between Scully and Mulder. Scully's brother hates him. Scully accepts a treatment suggested by Mulder even though Bill Jr. thinks it's nuts. Mulder is practically speechlessly happy when Scully's cancer goes into remission.

Scully's not in this one, but at least we get to see a delirious Mulder rip his clothes off.

Mulder grabs Scully's shoulder and says they don't need to go to any teamwork seminar; she can read his mind. She brings wine and cheese into Mulder's motel room and talks about agents consorting in motel rooms. They get trapped in a forest together and Scully pulls an injured Mulder onto her lap and sings at his request. While Mulder chats with a couple of other FBI agents, Scully goes back to their motel and packs up both of their things. Mulder realizes Scully might be in danger and drives off to get to her in someone else's car.

Mulder and Scully stand out as Beautiful People in a town of weirdos. They collapse together on the ground from chemical fumes. At the end, they dance while gazing into each other's eyes. *Sigh*.

Scully is visiting the family for the holidays and gets involved in a suicide case, which may not be suicide. Mulder's not around, and she hangs out with the very cute Detective Kresge—only she's too busy discovering that she has a blood daughter to be interested in him. Lucky for Mulder.

Mulder plays the role of The Perfect Man. Concern and protectiveness for Scully and Emily; some ass kicking for others. He says things to Scully about how he never wants to see her hurt or harmed in any way. When Emily goes into a coma, Mulder wants to stay with Scully but she says she wants to be alone. In the end, though, Scully chooses to stay with Mulder to share her personal and private last moments with Emily's casket instead of leaving with her family. The music is very revealing when Mulder appears in the church.

Mulder doesn't get too mad at Scully even though she takes Skinner's side against him. Mulder freaks out when he thinks he sees Scully shoot herself. He is on the verge of shooting the real Scully, and doesn't forgive himself even though Skinner says that it's all right.

Mulder wants to know if his boyish agility turns Scully on. Then the trees basically take over the episode.

Scully goes on vacation and Mulder is utterly lost and bored without her. He keeps calling her but she keeps hanging up. Scully takes a bubble bath and listens to classical music while a little girl's doll is killing people. She insists that she doesn't want Mulder to be calling her yet leaves her cell phone on. Mulder asks Scully to marry him.

Mulder is stuck in a virtual reality where people have taken his arms away. Scully comes in to kick some ass with her kung fu skills. The real Scully rushes to save her man while another woman uploads herself to be with her man.

Mulder and Scully swap stories about a recent vampire case. Scully is attracted to the town's Sheriff who, mysteriously in Mulder's version, has buck teeth. Scully wants to get their stories straight and wants Mulder to keep reiterating that he was drugged so that he won't be taken from her and hauled off to jail. Luckily the person he killed isn't really dead. In front of Skinner's office, Scully tries to straighten Mulder's tie but she's making him so nervous he won't let her.

Mulder has been convinced because of what's happened to Scully that what he's believed about UFOs all these years was wrong. Cassandra Spender brings up painful memories when she mentions Duane Barry. Krycek and Marita are involved--yipee! Meanwhile, Scully is getting affected by the call of the abductee and joins a group of them on a bridge, where they get burned to a crisp.

Mulder sees a red-headed woman on the bridge and for a moment thinks that it's Scully. But it turns out that she's somewhere else, and only has minor burn damage. Mulder strokes her hair in the hospital. He goes with her to a hypnotic regression session so that she can remember what happened on the bridge. He holds her hand.

Scully's not in this one since it's Mulder going back into pre-X-Files Mulder days again. He's wearing a wedding ring! But we can take it as a David Duchovny joke (jerk!) and not a real part of the show.

Mulder bonds with a blind woman because she can see things in her mind that people who can see can't see. Mulder's always such a sucker for helpless victim women.

Mulder is always able to pick up on when Scully's feeling pain. And when she's in pain, he's in pain. He wants to help but she's having Emily angst and he can't really do anything.

Mulder plays the part of a double-agent but doesn't tell Scully to protect her. Still, she can sense when there's something amiss and pays him a visit in his apartment. She tenderly doctors his hand while they exchange intense glances in the dark.

Scully checks out a dead body even though she kind of thinks Mulder's nuts. But she does it because he tells her that she's his one in five billion.

Mulder's ex-chickie Agent Diana Fowley shows up while Scully gets really jealous. She sees Mulder and Fowley holding hands and nearly becomes unglued. A little kid can sense all of the tension between the three adults, and is reading all of their minds. I want to know who Mulder's thinking of. The X-Files office gets burned, and Scully holds herself against an immobile Mulder.
