BLUE'S CLUES is a great show for kids to build confidence and self esteem. First of all, it plays the same show for all 5 days of the week. The idea of repetition is a great one because we all know that kids learn best this way. (Wow, what a concept!) The show is centered around Steve, a young man who captures kids attention with his funny way. The whole idea is for Steve and his kid viewers to figure out what Blue (his spunky and sneaky pet dog) wants to do. Steve has 3 clues to search out, which Blue has left for him by placing her paw print on them. Then its time for Steve's Handy Dandy Notebook, in which he draws a picture of each clue for later on in the show to solve the mystery. During his search many different things may happen...like things to teach color identification, matching, sorting or deduction. After all 3 clues have been found it's time to go to his thinking chair and think..think...thiiink. It's wonderful for kids to help Steve figure out what Blue wants to do which helps build problem solving skills.
