The Poetry of Donn Deedon

Incarnate

If Life is a circle (there are those who declare it so)
Such that we keep reincarnating to feed our souls
Some experience that only comes in a corporal package.
If Time is linear only to keep the mind sane, but, in truth,
Stands on end making all Time exist in this moment; in this Now.
If Dejá Vu is when possibilities superimpose in the head
Like a photograph double exposed and slightly out of sync.
Then I know why my soul keeps hungering to return time and again;
For each time it does it finds you to love. Remember?

Desert Rain

I dreamt it rained in the desert late in the day;
A flood of tears to clear the mind and wash the grit away,
Leaving in its wake a spate of Springtime blossoms
And a spatter of variegated rainbows in the sky.

Strong breeze from the north and wind from the west
Chase remaining clouds of doubts from the canvas,
While sky blue deepens to changing hues taught
To the tune of the sinking sun behind us.

Fears expressed and passions explained strengthen the soul.
Love comes as you begin to learn what you already know
That love is more than lust. This morning, with twinkle in eye,
I awoke with a turgid determination to make it so.
