As Long As They're Together 3/?

Washington D.C. Airport
Feb. 4, 1998

"Charlie! Over here!" Scully called out to her youngest brother.
She and Mulder had come to pick them up from the airport. When he got
over to where she was standing, she gave him a big hug. "God Charlie,
I haven't seen you in so long... I'm glad you could come."
"Come on Dana, would I really miss your wedding?" He smiled.
Charlie's wife, Kate stepped forward and gave Scully a hug.
"It's good to see you again Dana, you look great." then Kate
pulled at two kids half hidden behind her. "Come on you two, aren't
you going to say hi to your Aunt Dana?" The kids slowly appeared and
Scully smiled.
"My gosh, David, Chrissy, you two are getting so big! What grade
are you in now?" The kids smiled.
David answered proudly, "I'm in fourth grade now." Pointing to
Chrissy he said, "And she's only in second." Scully nodded, then
stood up.
Grabbing Mulder she pulled him towards her and introduced
everyone. "Mulder, this is my brother, Charlie, his wife, Kate, and
their kids, David and Chrissy. Everyone, this is Fox Mulder, my
fiancee."
Charlie shook hands with Mulder and smiled. "So you're the
famous Mulder I keep hearing about. You're all my sister talks about,
you know."
Mulder laughed and Scully cleared her throat. "Okay, let's get
going. You're grandma's dying to see you two," she said to the kids.
After a short debate, Mulder took the kids in one car, and Charlie and
Kate went with Scully.

"Is Fox your real name?" David asked Mulder.
Smiling, he answered, "Of course it is. Is David your real
name?" David giggled.
"Hey guess what we did in school the other day?" David asked
Mulder, his eyes shining.
"Umm, you rode an elephant?" Mulder guessed, keeping his face
completely serious.
"No!!!!!!" David laughed. "We had field day races, and I won
first place in one of them!" David started a lengthy description of
his activities, and Mulder occasionally nodded or made some comment.
Listening to David, his heart began to ache. He wanted children of
his own, his and Scully's. He sighed, silently cursing the people who
had taken that chance away from him.

Everyone had gotten settled at Maggie's house, and it was dinner
time. Bill, Tara, and Matthew had just arrived. Finally everyone sat
down to eat and Maggie got out some wine, pouring some for the adults.
"To Fox and Dana," she toasted, giving them a smile. Everyone's
glasses clinked together, and the kids had raised their cups of milk,
laughing. When she saw Bill staring daggers at Mulder, she cleared
her throat. "Bill, how was the flight?"
"Just fine mom," was all he would say. He was angry with
everyone. He was mad that Mulder was marrying his sister, and he was
mad that his mom was happy about it. So he just sat there with a
scowl on his face, hoping someone other then himself would be
reasonable, and find some way to stop the wedding.
Kate spoke up, looking at Scully and Mulder. "Dana, are you guys
getting nervous yet? I mean, tomorrow's the wedding and all."
Everyone laughed when Scully grinned, "Nervous, what is there to
be nervous about." She paused then explained. "Seriously, Mulder and
I have been so close for the past 4 1/2 years that we might as well
have been married...it's like we're just making it official now." She
took Mulder hand under the table and squeezed it.
"Hmmm," Kate teased. "Boy, work should be interesting now...
alone in the basement, husband and wife...gee, lots of opportunities."
The was a small silence, and Mulder looked sadly at Scully.
"Um, actually we're not working together anymore..." Bill
looked up, surprised, but happy. "The Bureau is kinda strict about
the relationship between partners...." Bill smirked to himself, glad
that at least something had gone his way. "I'm working with violent
crimes, Scully's back at Quantico. It started a few weeks ago."
Everyone exchanged small talk the rest of dinner. After dinner Bill
and Tara had to leave for the hotel, and Mulder was relieved. When
Maggie asked him to come and help him with the dishes, the agreed,
glad that Scully and Charlie would have a chance to talk, since Kate
had gone shopping with the kids.

Scully was sitting on the couch, reading a book, when Charlie
walked in. "Hey sis." Scully put her book down and patted the couch
next to her.
"Hey, come on and sit down, let's talk..." Scully knew they had
so much to catch up on, she needed to tell him about some things.
"Charlie, I wanted to talk to you about some things, I know mom may
have told you a little about what happened at Christmas, but I doubt
she told you everything."
Charlie shrugged and sat back. "All I know is that you were
involved with a girl that ended up dying. That's all she really told
me." Charlie saw the hurt in his sister's eyes, and he knew it was
much more than that.
Scully pulled a picture out of her wallet and handed it to
Charlie. "This is Emily, the little girl. Charlie, she-she was my
daughter..." Charlie held the picture, and was stunned.
"You're daughter? Dana, when..when did you have a child?"
Scully could see confusion and a little hurt in his eyes.
"Charlie, I never was pregnant. The men who-who abducted me,
well, she is a result of what they did to me." A tear slipped down
her face. "I-I was going to adopt her, but it wasn't approved. I
only knew her for a few days, and now she's gone..." Charlie embraced
his sister.
"God Dana, I'm so-so sorry. I didn't know, no one told me about
it." Scully felt comforted in her brother's arms. She and Charlie
had always been close. She stopped crying and sat up.
"I thought you should know, I'm- I'm tired of keeping secrets."
Scully sighed and they sat there for a few minutes.
"Are you..are you going to have any children?" Charlie asked. He
saw a flash of hurt in Scully's eyes, and he knew that something else
was wrong. "What's wrong?"
Scully sighed again. "I just, I thought that Mom would've told
you. I-I can't have children. I found out a few months ago, when I
was fighting my cancer..." She stopped talking and looked at her
feet.
"Are you going to be okay Dana?" Charlie asked, squeezing his
sister's hand.
"Yeah, I've finally come to terms with everything...Mulder, he's
really helped me. I couldn't have done it without him..." Charlie
nodded. "I can overcome anything, as long as we're together."

The wedding march started and everyone stood up. Dana Scully
started walking down the aisle, her brother, Charlie by her side. she
looked magnificent, a long white dress, simple, but elegant. Mulder's
eyes were glued to her the whole time, and he was beaming. When
Scully finally reached the altar, she kissed her brother, then took
her place next to Mulder. She thought he looked so incredible. The
priest started his long speech, and all Mulder and Scully could focus
on was each other. When it was time to say their vows, Mulder smiled.
"Dana, you have been by my side for the past, well, almost five
years. You have always been there for me, even when I wasn't there
for you. You are my life, the other half of me. I will love you for
richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, from now until the
day I die."
Scully blinked back her tears, and realized it was her turn.
"Mulder, Fox, over these past five years I have come to trust you as I
trust no other. You have saved me more times than I can count, and no
matter what you think, you have always been there for me when I have
needed you. I love you with all my heart and all my soul and I will
be there for you no matter what happens, for richer or for poorer, in
sickness and in health, from now until I die." Mulder and Scully
gazed at each other, and for a moment, they were the only people in
the room.
They slipped their rings on each others fingers and looked at the
preacher. The smiled and announced, "I know pronounce you husband and
wife, you may kiss the bride." Ever so gently, Mulder pulled back
Scully's veil and touched his lips to hers. The kiss intensified, and
then they realized where they were. Pulling apart, everyone cheered.
To Mulder and Scully, all they would remember about this day would be
each other.

***

At the reception, Scully felt like she was floating. The day had
gone wonderfully, and nearly everyone had been able to show up. The
cake was cut, the bouquet was tossed, and everyone was having a great
time. Scully had taken a break from dancing for a drink, when she saw
Skinner. He walked over to her and smiled. "You look great, Dana.
The wedding was wonderful."
Scully stood up and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, sir. I
thought this day would never come.." Skinner laughed and held out his
hand.
"May I have a dance?" Scully nodded, and they went out onto the
dance floor. "So, how is your new position going?" Skinner asked.
"I'm getting used to it. I must admit though, It's boring
compared to the X-Files. Anyways, It's going to work out..." Skinner
nodded.
"Well, it's more quiet in my office now too. I guessed I never
realized how busy you and Mulder kept me. You two are great together.
I'm sure you're going to have a great life..." He squeezed her arm,
and they finished the dance in silence. Scully began to realize just
how much she admired her ex-boss.
After the song ended, Skinner went to talk to some people, and
Dana saw Mulder and Bill over in a corner. The conversation didn't
look pleasant. Sighing, she knew the day was going all to well.
Walking over to where the two were arguing, she heard some of Bill's
words-he was doing most the talking, and she was not happy. "Excuse
me, but what in the hell are you doing Bill?" Bill looked up in
surprise.
"I'm simply letting Mulder here know that if he does anything to
you, he's going to have to pay the price." He stepped back and looked
smug. Scully felt her anger boil up.
"Dammit Bill!" she tried to keep her voice down. "We are
married. I love him, and he loves me. When are you going to get that
through your thick head?! If you can't just accept that then I want
you to leave." She was furious at her brother, but was sorry that it
was going this far.
Bill just stood there, then paced away. She saw him sit down in
a corner to sulk. **He can be such a baby sometimes...** Scully told
herself. Turning her attention to Mulder, she smiled. "Looking
forward to tonight??" she grinned.
Mulder leaned towards her and whispered in her ear, "You
bet....it's going to be fantastic." He had said this is such a low,
seductive voice, Scully shivered. Then, Mulder walked away to talk to
someone who had called his name.
Scully decided to sit down, since her legs had turned to
something resembling jello. Before she knew it, she was surrounded by
a group of people, and lots of wedding-night comments. She just
blushed and didn't say anything. Tonight was going to be
special....it would be their first time together as husband and wife.
And then, in the morning, they were off on their honeymoon-to Florida.
 She couldn't wait.

After what seemed like ages, everyone had finally left, and
Maggie was shooing Mulder and Scully away. "Go home you two. Don't
worry about the mess. Me, Kate, and Tara are going to clean up. You
deserve to go home and relax." Scully was about to protest, but she
saw the look in her mom's eyes that said she wouldn't win.
"Okay mom, I'll send you a post card from Florida, and I'll see
you in a week or so." Scully hugged her mom. Fox stepped up and gave
Maggie a hug too.
"Thanks for everything, we really appreciate it." He smiled and
took Scully's hand.
Maggie smiled and kissed Mulder on the cheek. "Welcome to the
family Fox." He smiled, then lead Scully out the door. They headed
to Scully's apartment as husband and wife.

"Mmmm, that feels great Mulder..Don't stop," Scully closed her
eyes and Mulder gently massaged her shoulders. They had just finished
their dinner and were sitting on the couch. Mulder's hands wandered
down Scully's back. She shifted and layed against him. He pulled his
hands away and wrapped them around her. "Mulder, shouldn't we call
each other by our first names, I mean, we are married..."
Mulder smiled, "Of course, Dana." He turned her around and
gently pressed his lips to hers. A rush of fire immediately spread
through his body, and he wanted more. Scully opened her mouth,
moaning when Mulder did the same. The kiss lasted forever, and was
full of passion. Soon, Mulder felt Scully slip her hands under his
shirt and run them along his chest. He pulled away and before she
could say anything, took off his shirt...and hers. Mulder was
trembling with anticipation, and Scully smiled.
"Come on Mulder, let's go into the bedroom." She took his hand
and led him to her bed. Scooping her up, Mulder layed her gently down
on the bed and removed the rest of their clothing. "Mmm, I love you
Fox," Scully whispered.
"And I love you...Mrs. Mulder..." Mulder smiled. Then, he lay
down with her, and they were overtaken by the lust and need filling
them. It was heaven, and they both knew that nothing on Earth was
better then being together, with the person they loved. In the end,
They fell asleep in each other's arms, surrounded by the scent of
their love-making. Their lives were only just beginning, and they
knew that.
