"As Long As They're Together" 4/?
"Mulder, hey, Mulder!" Scully shook him awake. "It's time to wake up. Come on, rise and shine." Mulder's eyes popped open and he smiled.
"G' Morning," he yawned. "It's time to get up already? Geez, I'm still tired... you wore me out last night." he grinned, ducking as Scully hit him over the head with a pillow.
"I'm taking a shower now, so get up." She ordered. Seeing the gleam in his eyes, she shook her head. "No, you can not join me. As much as the idea appeals to me, we'll never be done in time to make the plane if you do." Mulder started pouting. "Mulder, don't worry, we'll have plenty of time for the good stuff after we get there."
As soon as Scully stepped out of the bathroom, the smell fo eggs and bacon surrounded her. Walking into the kitchen, she saw Mulder, working hard, with his back towards her. "Amazing! You can cook!" she teased. Mulder turned around and tried to look insulted. "Ha Ha. Despite your original assumptions, I can do more than order take out or fix microwave dinners." Setting their plates down on the table, he gave her a short kiss then announced, " Breakfast is served." They sat down to the table, and a comfortable silence spread over thim. Scully was reading the latest New England Journal of Medicine, and Mulder was flipping through the sports page.
Suddenly, the sound of Scully's laughter broke the silence. mulder looked up, wondering what could have brought this rare fit of giggles on. "What? Did I miss something?" he was puzzled.
"Oh Mulder, it's just that I never imagined this," she smiled, waving her hands around. "I mean, we're being so, so normal." Mulder began to laugh too, then stood up to put his dishes away.
"Ya know Scully, if this is what normal is like, then I wish I'd have become "normal" a long time ago..." He walked up behind Scully, who was still sitting down, and put hhis arms around her. Planting a kiss on the back of her neck, he sighed, "Come on, time to get ready to go." They got up and packed, more than ready for a week of rest, relaxation, and each other.

"Is this flight ever going to take off?" Scully half whined to Mulder. They'd been sitting in the pland for almost 45 minutes, and everyone was getting restless.
As if someone had heard Scully, a flight attendant announced on the loudspeaked, "ladies and Gentlemen, we're sorry for the delay. The plane sound be taking off in about five minutes. Please sit down and fasten your seatblets. Thanks you."
Scully let go a sigh of relief and leaned against Mulder. "Finally." Then she looked up at him and grinned. "Just remember Mulder, no mothmen this time..."
"Oh, very funny. Don't worry," he assured her, slipping his arm around her shoulders. "Nothing's going to get in the way this time, no more detours."
"Good," Scully yawned. She could feel herself getting tired already, so she closed her eyes, and listed to Mulder's heart beating.

Mulder noticed that in no time at all, Scully was asleep. He knew that leaning over the armrest like that would give her a backache, so he rearranged her as carefully as possible. Then, he took out an article he was working on for the Lone Gunmen. He had promised that he'd finish it soon, but he hadn't even started, so he figured this would be the perfect opportunity to get some of it done.
Every couple of minutes, he glanced over at Scully to make sure she was okay. *She looks so beautiful* he thought to himself. If anyone would have told him 5 years ago that he would be married to Dana Scully, he would have laughed. But now, well, he can't imagine his life without her.
"Excuse me," a voice interrupted his thoughts. After a moment, he realized it was the woman bhind him. She was older, with light gray hair and a warm smile. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I couldn't help but notice what a wonderful couple you and your wife make. I've never seen anyone more in love..."
Mulder smiled at her. Inside he was beaming. "Thank you," He wasn't sure what else to say.
"How long have you been married?" the woman asked.
"Um, actually we were married yesterday. We're on our honeymoon." he blushed a little, imagining what they would spend most of their honeymoon doing.
"That's wierd," the woman shrugged. "I would've guessed that you've been married a few years. You seem so, in synch with each other." Her eyes flickered over the still-sleeping Scully.
Mulder laughed. "In a way we have been married for the past five years." At the woman's wondering look, he tried to explain. "Scully- Dana and I are partners where we work, or at least we were. I guess in our job we had to be able to trust our partner with our life." He stopped, not wanting to go into details about their jobs.
The woman nodded, "I think I understand, my husband was a plice officer for thirty years. Sometimes I would get jealous about how much time he spent around his parter.." she sighted and leaned over. "Oh well, I'm going to leave you alone now, I've got some reading to catch up on." She gave him one last smile, then turned to her book.
For about another hour, Scully slept, and Mulder was able to get about half of his article done. When the stewardess came around for the second time about drinks, he finally decided to wake her. Stroking her chek with his thumb, he called her name. "Scully," she stirred, but didn't want to wake up. "Scully!" he whispered, a little louder. This time her eyes opened up at she sat up.
"Hmmm, what?" she mumbled, while wiping the sleep from her eyes.
Mulder took ar hand, rubbing it. "What do you want to drink?" he pointed towards the cart in the aisle. Scully thought for a moment, then smiled.

"I think I want iced tea." She was quite awake now.
"Iced tea, could be love..." Mulder commented, remembering a stakeout when he had said something like that. He leaned over and kissed her softly. "Iced tea sounds good, I think I'll have some too."

After a lengthy delay, again, the plane pulled up at the airport, and People started getting off. Mulder took Scully's hand, "Ready for the best week of your life?" Scully just squeezed his hand and nodded.
An hour later they were in their hotel suite overlooking the ocean. There was a bedroom, dining room, living room, and a bathroom. "God Mulder," Scully was standing at the window, looking at the sea. "This is wonderful, let's go to the beach." Scully's eyes lit up. Mulder was hoping to stay in the room and do...other things, but he couldn't dissapoint her.
"Does that mean I get to see you in your bikini?" He leered at her.
"Mmm, you'll just have to wait and see," she grinned, going into the bedroom. When she came out, a t-shirt was hiding her swimsuit. Mulder, who had changed while she was, started to pout as they walked out the door.
"Come on Scully, aren't you taking that off?" Scully thought he sounded like a five year old asking to open presents of Christmas morning.
"Not until we get to the beach," she smirked, knowing she was torturing him. She was sure that his mind was on one thing, and one thing only. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't something they could do at the beach, or at least not without being arrested.
They got to the beach and Mulder turned around to lay out the towels they'd brought. Scully took this opportunitly to shed her t-shirt. The air was kinda chilly, *It was February*, but it was a unusually warm one. When Mulder turned back facing Scully, his jaw dropped, and he shifted, as he became slightly uncomfortable. Her skin was so smooth, milky-white with a light dusting of freckles. And her bathing suit, a turquoise bikini, well, it was barely there. "Ah, you look stunning," he smiled at her. She held out the sunscreen, and he was more than happy to rub it into her skin.
After awhile, he had begun to massage her, and she leaned back into him. She mad a noise that sounded like a mix between a moan and a sigh. "That feels so good," she murmured. Finally, Mulder stopped and just held her as they sat together on the towels. A man passing buy seemed to be awfully interested in Scully, and Mulder just gave him a nasty look, hoping Scully wouldn't notice. *She's mine guys, too bad for you. Keep your eyes to youself..*
Scully hopped up after drinking some tea, and pulled Mulder up too. "Come on, let's go into the water." Mulder looked at the ocean, and couldn't help but notice that it looked so....cold.
"Scully, it looks too cold," he started to whine. But Scully wouldn't hear it and pulled him to the water mumbling something about him being a "big baby."
At 5:00, Scully sat up and rubbed Mulder's back to get his attention. "Mulder?"
"Yeah?" his head popped up.
"I'm getting cold, let's go in and order dinner." She stood up, pulling her t-shirt over her head. Mulder silently gathered their things and followed her inside.

"You want Chinese?" Mulder yelled, hoping Scully heard him. She was in the bedroom changing. He heard her muffled reply, sounding like "Sure!" So, he picked up the phone and soon had some food on the way. Scully came out of the room wearing sweats and with her hair pulled into a pony tail. She looked like a teenager.
Pulling Mulder to her, she pressed her lips to his and ran her hands up his pack. "Just a promise for later.." She whispered. Letting him go, she sat down on the couch.
Mulder, unsure of what to say, just smiled and sat down next to her. She looked at him and picked up a booklet. "Let's order a movie." After a few minutes, they'd decided on the movie, "City Of Angels." Mulder fumbled with the menu screen, but soon became exasperated. Scully, seeing his frustration, just shook her head. "Give me that," she laughed. In thirty seconds, a screen popped up, telling them that the movie would start in ten minutes. "Gee whiz Mulder, it wasn't that hard. Are you good for anything?" She smiled, joking around. His response was to pick up her hand and kiss all her fingers. "I mean, besides that.." she trailed off as his kissed moved up to her neck. "Oh, Mulder, hmm, that feels great." It was at that moment when someone decided to knock on the door.
Mulder let go of Scully and pulled himself up. The person at the door knocked again, but a little louder. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" Mulder called out. Opening the door, he found the delivery guy with their dinner. After asking how much, he tossed the guy some money, then grabbed the food and shut the door. Walking over to the couch, he handed Scully one of the boxes. "Dinner is served..."

At the end of the movie, the left-over food was discarded on the floor by the couch, and Scully was curled up in Mulder's arms. "That was a great movie Mulder." He managed to respond with a "mmhm." He tried to move himself, but was in a very akward position. In a moment, Scully discovered his "problem." His body was responding to Scully's close presence, particularly areas down south.
Scully squirmed around on Mulder's lap and he just moaned. "Uuuh, Scully, geez. Um, let's go to the b-bedroom." He was trying to hold back, but his body felt like it was on fire. Scully got up and ran into the bedroom, and after a minute, Mulder was able to follow her. When he did get in the room, what he saw made his whole body stand on edge. Scully was lying on top of the bed unclothed...completely. He just swallowed hard and smiled.
Scully sat up and grabbed his shirt. "You have too many clothes on." She undressed him, and soon they were joined in a rythm of love.

The rest of the week went by so quickly, and before they knew it, it was time to leave. "Mulder, I really don't want to go back to work tomorrow," Scully complained, while walking onto the plane.
"Well, neither do I but, I guess we don't have much of a choice. Besides, as long as I have you, I'll be happy." They found their seats and sat down, preparing for the long flight home.
