'Okay, here it goes..'
"Hey Scully,"
"Yeah Mulder?"
"Are you doing anything tonight?"
"No...Why?"
"Well, I was wondering if you'd consider letting me take you out to dinner,"
"By any chance do you mean on a date Mulder?"
"Uh...yeah,"
*oh no, she's gonna say no, I knew it!*
"Sure, I'll go on a *date* with you Mulder. Where to?"
*thank you, thank you!!!*
"It's a surprise. I'll pick you up at 7:00."
"Okay Mulder, but if we are going anywhere that has to do with aliens, fast food, or conspiracies, I'm going to walk out on you."
*I love her smile.*
"Don't worry Scully, we'll have a great time."
"Every time you tell me not to worry, one of us ends up in the hospital."
"Ha ha, well, that won't happen this time. Since it's 5:30, I'm leaving to....make some preparations. See ya later Scully."
"I'm going home now too. Oh, should I wear something casual, or dressy?"
"I'm leaning more towards the dressy side."
"Okay, I'll see ya at 7:00 Mulder."
*Oh my god! I'm going out on a date with Fox Mulder. My partner. A date. I've got to find something to wear!!"

Scully's Apartment
Scully's doorbell rang, and she was frantically trying to calm herself down. Taking a deep breath, she opened to door to see Mulder standing there in a tux.
*He looks so good! God, I can't remember if I've ever seen him look like this. I'll never get through tonight!*
She motioned Mulder to come in her apartment. He was a little wide-eyed, and his mouth was slightly open.
*she is gorgeous!! I've got to get her out like this more often!!*
"Scully, you look..fabulous," Mulder stammered. She was wearing a black dress that ended about mid-thigh and flared out slightly. It had long sleeves and a plunging V-shaped neckline.
Scully just blushed and smiled, "You don't look too bad yourself Mulder. Just let me get my purse, and then we can go." She turned around and walked into her bedroom, snatching her purse up. "Here it goes," she murmured to herself.

Tiffany's Dinner Theatre
7:30
Mulder and Scully arrived at Tiffany's Dinner Theatre, and to Scully's surprise, it was an extremely fancy place. When they went inside, Mulder's hand was perched on his place on Scully's back. "Excuse me, I have a reservation for tonight's show," he told the person at the front.
"May I have your name sir?"
"Mulder."
The worker checked the book, then gestured to Mulder and Scully, "If you would follow me please." They were led to a small table near the front. Candles adorned the table, giving it a romantic look. "The show should be starting in about five minutes. Your dinner will be brought out shortly. My name is Chris. If you need anything from me, just let me know." He walked away, leaving Scully and Mulder alone.
"My god Mulder!" Scully looked at him. "This must have cost you a fortune! Do you know what we're being served for dinner?"
Mulder smiled. "I believe it's Salisbury steak with salad, rice, and dessert." Scully was about to say something else, when simultaneously, the waiter brought their food, and someone walked out onto the stage. Both Mulder and Scully sat back to eat, while listening to the person on stage.
"Tonight will be a presentation of the Shakespeare classic, 'Romeo and Juliet.' We ask that you keep your voices to a minimum, and no flash photography please." the actor smiled, then walked off stage.
Scully smiled shaking her head at Mulder. "Mulder, you continue to amaze me. How did you know that I like Shakespeare?"
"Truthfully, I saw a book of it on your table once. It looked pretty well-read, so I kinda guessed. I'm glad I was right."
Scully smiled then turned her head towards the stage. Mulder took this opportunity to study her profile. *She is so pretty. I don't deserve someone like her. God knows what I would do without her though.*
About halfway through the performance, Mulder scooted over towards Scully, and put his arm around her. He noticed that she quickly relaxed into his arms.
By the end of the play, Scully was leaning against Mulder, both of his arms around her. She had tears in her eyes, and Mulder could tell she'd enjoyed the play. When they stood up to leave, Mulder felt cold all over where Scully had been. Neither of them said anything walking out to the car, but they held hands the whole way.
Once they settled in the car, Scully smiled. "Mulder, thank you for taking me out tonight...it was, I had a wonderful time."
"No problem Scully, I'm just glad you liked it."
"Mulder, would you like to come over to my place? I-I think I have some wine..we could..." Scully looked at Mulder and he smiled.
On their way to her house, they talked about little things: work, the play, Scully's godson, Mulder's mom. Both of them were avoiding talking about the one thing that was on their minds...each other.
Scully's Apartment
11:00 PM
"Go ahead and sit down on the couch Mulder, I'll get the wine." Scully walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine off of the shelf. Pouring two glasses, she brought them and the bottle into the living room. "Thanks," Mulder smiled as he took the glass. "So...." Mulder started, unsure of what to say.
"Mulder, why did you take me out tonight?" Scully looked up.
"What?" Mulder asked, confused.
"What made you ask me out tonight?"
Mulder looked down, "I figured you could use a break, with your cancer...and Emily..I figured you hadn't had a break in awhile."
"Is that the only reason Mulder, to help me out?"
"No, I.." He looked at her, suddenly understanding. "The truth is Scully, I love you." She sat there, looking in his eyes.
Scully suddenly sat up and leaned foreward, brushing her lips against his. Sparks flew between them, and without thinking, Mulder deepend the kiss. He put his arms around her waist, and her hands snaked around his neck. When she opened her mouth, allowing his access, he moaned in appreciation. After a few moments, they broke apart, but only becuase they had to breathe. "Wow," Scully said, her voice heavy, and her breath fast. "I love you too Mulder," she smiled.
Mulder looked up at her and brushed some hair out of her face. "How far are we going to go Scully? I can't go back to the way things were, not now." Scully silenced him by kissing him again. When she sat up again, she ran her hand through his hair.
"Mulder, I want you to stay tonight...I want you here, with me." She brushed his mouth again with his, hoping, knowing he couldn't say no.
"Are you sure Scully, this could change everything?" Mulder asked.

"Mulder, all I'm sure of is that I love you more than I've ever loved anyone before, and I want you. I don't care about what the bureau thinks."
Mulder smiled, then shifted on the couch, pulling Scully down on top of him. They had found true love, a love that would last an eternity. As the night passed, full of passion and love, they found everything they'd ever wanted in each other, the last few walls that had been up between them were knocked down, and their hearts were made complete.
