Doug Hibovski:

Doug and Karen Hibovski started Bloor West Music Studios in November 1990. Doug has been teaching guitar for over 20 years. He holds a B.F.A. in Music from the University of Toronto. He has won many competitions and likes to involve his students in competing as well. He also runs the Band program at the studio which consists of 4 teenage rock and blues bands. Doug is an effective and dedicated teacher. He teaches on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Orest Hrynewich:

Orest specialises in teaching Jazz, Blues and Rock He graduated from Capilano College with a diploma from the Jazz music program including courses in composition and performance. Orest also teaches Mandolin and is able to play any instrument. He also has reached the associate level in piano from the Royal Consevatory of Music. He has many years of teaching experience including teaching Computer Music at Centenial College for over 3 years. Orest is the co-owner of a recording studio in Toronto called "Smack Dab Music" where he and his partner write music for film and T.V. He enjoys teaching and is a welcome addition to the Bloor West Music Studios staff. He teaches on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Drums

Chris Steffler:

Chris is the true 'rocker' of the studio. He enjoyed a successful band run in the 1980's as drummer for the hit band "Platinum Blonde" playing to thousands of fans at MapleLeaf Gardens. He brings his many years of experience with him as he teaches his students how to be a successful drummer and how to work within a band context. Chris is good at relating to the teenagers he teaches. Chris teaches on Tuesdays.
