Old Album Pages

These old album pages surfaced recently at my sister's house - just two loose pages. We thought you would enjoy seeing them. The photos are displayed below on a black background to simulate the old album pages, but each photo is a separate file. You can see a larger version of each photo by clicking on it - but be sure to maximize the new window to allow the larger photo to display properly. After viewing the larger photo, close the new window and this page will still be there, behind. These photos date from approximately 1926 or 1927, don't you think - since Aunt Kitty was born in 1920? We are not 100% sure that the young man is Ernie - in a couple of the photos it looks more like Bubba. Ernie was born in 1910 and Bubba about 2 years later. Any thoughts?

Update! - In one of those funny genealogy trains of discoveries, I realized that Horace Legree Chandler, brother of my grandfather, married a girl from Amory, Eunice Kynerd. The Kynerd family is living just up the street from the Chandlers in the 1930 census and Eunice is listed as Eunice Chandler. From having no idea that Horace was ever in Amory, we have now moved to the fact that he marrid an Amory girl. This revelation led to a comparison of known, older photos of Horace to the young man noted as "Unknown" on the album pages below. I now believe that man to be Horace Legree Chandler. Frank has a photo of his Dad at about age 12 with this same man, probably on the same day (or at least the same visit). (See photo.) They definitely look comfortable and "like family" together.

Above, top left: Thomas Jefferson Chandler, Thomas Ernest Chandler, and Robert Lafayette Malpass (father, son and father-in-law).
Top right: Same three: Ernie, RLM, and Daddy Tom.
Center: Ernie, RLM and Unknown.
Bottom left: Ernie and RLM.
Bottom right: RLM, Daddy Tom, and Unknown.

Above, top left: RLM. Is that a dredging platform behind him?
Top row, middle: Three unknowns.
Top row, right: RLM with girls, two of which are his granddaughters. Aunt Meryle is the tallest and Aunt Kitty is in front at right. I don't know who the two smaller children are.
Bottom row, left: Thomas Jefferson Chandler and his father-in-law Robert Lafayette Malpass.
Bottom row, middle: "Pete" - don't know who this is. Does it appear his face has been burned or something?
Bottom row, right: A group of fellows at what must be a construction site or perhaps they were dredging gravel from the bottom of the Tombigbee River?
