Backstreet Families

“Hi Brian,” Lyndsey said, giving him a friendly hug, meeting up with him, Meghine and Aj.

“What do you guys wanna do?” Meghine asked.

“Anything you want,” Aj said kissing her.

“Awe and ugh…” Lyndsey laughed.

“If you two can stop focusing on each other, we can go bowling or something,” Brian suggested.

“Sounds great,” Lyndsey replied, following Brian. When they got to the alley they joined in teams.

“Ladies first,” Aj said to Lyndsey like a gentleman. When Meghine went to bowl, Lyndsey snuck up behind her and sneezed really loud and started to laugh, then high-fived Brian.

“Do you mind?” Meghine asked, smiling. Meghine bowled a spare and Aj hugged her and kissed her on the cheek.

“It must be nice, being so close to someone and being so in love,” Lyndsey stated, looking over at Brian.

“Yeah, it probably feels great. I wish I could feel that,” He whispered, looking into Lyndsey eyes, getting closer to her.

“Bri! You’re up!” Aj called out. Brian smiled and stood up, picked up a ball and bowled a strike.

“Whoa! That was great!” Lyndsey exclaimed.

“Thanks. I feel kinda lucky today,” He smiled at her and she smiled back.

“Hey guys!” Nick announced as he walked up with Jill, holding her hand.

“Hi!” Lyndsey said, grabbing Jill’s arm and pulling her to the side.

“What’s going on?” Jill asked.

“Brian and I almost kissed! We were talking about love and we got closer and then Aj called him over, but we’re getting closer,” She explained.

“That’s great!” Jill replied, “You really like him, don’t you?”

“Yes. Well actually…I think I’m in love with him!” Lyndsey blurted out, “I mean, I know we’re best friends, but I love him. I wish we could have what you and Nick, Meghine and Aj or even what Danielle and Howie have.”

“I know you will someday. I know Brian feels the same,” Jill said, just as Brian came up and said,

“Lynds, you’re up,” and smiled, as Danielle, Howie, Rhonda and Kevin showed up.

“Sorry we’re late,” Kevin announced, “I had to talk to Rhonda, well.. I asked Rhonda out and well obviously she said yes,” He explained, with a smile on his face.

“Congrats!” Nick replied back. Brian turned to Lyndsey as she turned to him and they both just smiled.

Ch.2

“It’s so cool. We’re all hooked up,” Danielle said,

“Except…” Everyone’s eyes turned to Brian and Lyndsey.

“I’m gonna go get us some sodas,” Brian covered as he quickly left.

“What if Brian doesn’t feel the same as I do?” Lyndsey whispered to Jill.

“he does. Go follow him and you two can talk,” Jill insisted.

Lyndsey ran after him.

“Need some help?” She asked.

“Sure, thanks,” He answered.

“Um…Brian?” Lyndsey began.

“Yeah Lyndsey?” He said. Lyndsey looked into his eyes and could barely stand the thought of him not returning her feelings.

“I, uh, think it’s your turn. I can handle these.” Brian sighed and said softly, “It’s ok. I’d like to help.” When they got back everyone kept whispering to Lyndsey

“What did you say?” and she responded, “What?” acting clueless.

“Listen guys. I don’t feel so well. I’m gonna head home,” Lyndsey announced.

“What’s wrong? Are you ok?” Brian asked immediately concerned.

“I feel sick, but I’ll be ok,” She said, hugging everyone goodbye.

Brian followed and said, “Are you sure you’re ok? I could drive you home.”

“No thanks, I’ll be fine,” She smiled, wrapping her arms around him tight, wishing she could stay like this forever, as she closed her eyes.

“Bye,” She whispered.

“I hope you feel better, bye,” He responded, smiling. Lyndsey headed home thinking ‘Why didn’t I tell him. I’m so stupid. I should’ve told him how I feel.’ Lyndsey lay on her bed at home and fell asleep. When she awoke the next morning she thought of calling Brian.

“No. I’ve got to tell him in person,” She decided as she got up quickly, and ran out the door. ‘I’ve got to tell him!”

Ch.3

(At Brian’s house)

“Hey Lynds! How are you feeling?” He asked.

“I’m fine, but I just came to tell you something,” She said.

“Ok,” Brian smiled.

Lyndsey completely froze, “Well I mean I had to ask you something. Did we win the game yesterday?” She asked, feeling dumb.

“Actually yeah. We did. That’s what you wanted to say?” He asked.

“Yeah. Sorry to bug you. See ya,” She said turning around.

Lyndsey stopped and turned back around and yelled,

“Brian! Wait! I love you!” Brian turned again and smiled and asked, “What?”

“Um, nevermind,” She hit her head with her hand.

Brian grabbed her arm, “That’s what you came to say, isn’t it?” He smiled and pulled her closer, “I love you too.”

“Really? I mean, I wanted to tell you forever but I thought well I was worried that,” Lyndsey rambled on, as Brian put his finger to her lips, and moved closer and kissed her softly for a long time when they finally pulled away slowly and smiled at each other and put their heads together.

“I love you so much,” Brian whispered in her ear.

“I love you too,” Lyndsey whispered back, relieved that she and Brian were finally together.

“I’m sorry I walked away yesterday when we were talking about relationships, but I couldn’t stand it if you didn’t feel the same as I do,” Brian explained.

“I felt the same way. But I’m sorrier that Aj interrupted us,” Lyndsey grinned, as she leaned forward and kissed Brian for a second time and they both smiled.

Ch.4

“Oh my gosh!” Jill exclaimed, with wide eyes, covering her mouth, hugging Lyndsey, “I’m so happy for you!”

“I’ve never been happier in my whole life!” Lyndsey chimed, turning in a circle.

“Well if you don’t mind, I’m going to go call everyone,” Jill said as the phone rang.

“Hey hun,” She said to Nick.

“We all heard the great news. We all want to go celebrate!” He said happily, “We’ll meet you at Le Valet at 7pm tonight.”

“Ok, see ya later. Luv ya, bye,” Jill said to Nick.

(That night)

“Hey guys,” Lyndsey said, walking up to Aj and Meghine as they were kissing.

“Careful bone, don’t chew her face off,” Brian said, laughing, grabbing onto Lyndsey’s hand.

“Ladies first,” Brian said, letting Lyndsey sit in the booth first.

“Thanks,” She replied softly.

“Hey,” Everyone else said as they arrived shortly after, “Congratulations.”

“Thanks,” Brian and Lyndsey answered in unison.

“Let’s eat,” Aj said.

“Haven’t you had enough?” Brian laughed out, causing Meghine to blush and Aj to laugh and lightly punch Brian in the shoulder, as everyone else half laughed, because they figured out what Brian meant.

“Let’s have a toast,” Kevin announced holding up a glass of wine,” To Brian and Lyndsey, who fell in love and for all of us who each have a happy relationship.” Kevin kissed Rhonda, Brian kissed Lyndsey, Jill kissed Nick, Danielle kissed Howie and Aj kissed Meghine and they all clinked their glasses together.

“Why don’t we all go dancing,” Rhonda asked, starting to dance, whispered, “Shake you bon bon, shake your bon bon.”

Everyone agreed and when they got to the club Rhonda stated, “Let’s boogie!” They all made their way to the dance floor and danced for an hour or so until the dj announced, “Ok people it’s careokee time!”

“Let’s go,” Jill whispered to Lyndsey. They ran up to the stage.

Jill decided to sing ‘You Drive Me Crazy’ and got a huge applause. When Lyndsey’s turn came she looked straight at Brian and sang ‘I Love You Always Forever’.

“I love you always forever, near and far, closer together, everywhere I will be with you, everything I will do for you…” Lyndsey sand to Brian. After, Rhonda jumped up on the stage saying, “My turn!” Rhonda sang ‘Do You Wanna Get Funky’ and everyone in the club burst out laughing.

Afterwards Brian told Lyndsey, “You sounded great. That was really sweet. That’s why I love you so much,” and then Brian gave her a soft kiss, as everyone watched and said, “Awe…”

Ch.5

(6 months later)

“I’m so happy for Amber,” Lyndsey said to Jill, getting ready for her friend’s engagement party.

“She and Jason make such a cute couple,” Jill stated.

“Hopefully someday, we can be in her position,” Lyndsey wished.

“Yeah, hopefully someday soon,” Replied Jill, heading out the door with Lyndsey to Brian and Nick waiting in the car.

When everyone arrived at the party, Jason made a toast to Amber and then the music started and everyone danced.

“This is so fun!” Meghine said, dancing with Aj.

“Yes, but I can make it better,” He said taking out a silver ring from his pocket, “This is a promise ring. Let’s promise to always be together and always love each other,” He smiled.

“Oh Aj! Thank you! I love you!” Exclaimed Meghine, then she kissed Aj.

“This is so perfect!” Lyndsey said as the song ‘I Do’ came on.

Lyndsey put her arms around Brian and he wrapped his around her as they started to dance. Brian kissed her forehead and whispered, “I love you,” in her ear After the song ended Brian said, “I can’t wait any longer.”

Brian grabbed a microphone from when Jason had made his toast, and walked over to Lyndsey and held her hand. Brian got down on one knee and said, “Lyndsey, I can’t stand it anymore. I love you, will you marry me?” and slipped a gold ring on her finger.

Tearful with happiness she answered, “YES! Yes I will marry you!”

Everyone clapped with shocked looks on their faces.

“Congratulations!” Kevin said, giving his cousin a hug, then hugging Lyndsey.

“It’s amazing! The last couple to get together, the first to get married!” Nick grinned, nudging Brian.

(Later after everyone went home)

“So when are you going to pop the big question to Jill?” Brian asked Nick, when it was just the 2 of them left.

“I don’t know man…I think I’ll give it time,” Answered Nick.

“That’s cool. Lyndsey’s getting her stuff and moving in with me. I’ve never been happier,” Brian said in a cheerful tone.

“Neither has Lyndsey I bet,” Said Nick as they got in the car and drove home. When Brian got home Lyndsey was waiting for Brian. He kissed her and said, “How about 5 weeks today?” as if he had telepathy.

"Sounds great! I can’t wait to be Mrs. Lyndsey Littrell!” Lyndsey smiled.

Ch.6

(5 weeks later) (The wedding)

“This is it B-Rok,” Howie said to him, as the others stood, waiting.

The music started and the Bridesmaids came down the aisle. Then Jill, as the Maiden of honour walked down and took Nick, as best man’s hand. The music changed and Lyndsey walked down the aisle. Brian winked at her and smiled as he lifted up her veil, and kissed her hand.

After the vows of promise the priest asked, “Brian Thomas Littrell, do you take Lyndsey Margaret Stark to be your lawfully wedded wife? Through sickness and in health, til’ death do you part?”

“Yes, I take her for much more than that. I take her as my light, sun, and soul, and my whole world,” He announced smiling, causing Lyndsey to start to cry.

“Lyndsey Margaret Eileen Stark do you take Brian Thomas Littrell to be your lawfully wedded husband? Through sickness and in health til’ death do you part?”

“I do and I always will,” She blushed, smiling. They gave each other the rings and the priest announced, “By the power invested in me by the state of Florida, I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!”

Brian and Lyndsey shared a long first kiss as a married couple while everyone cheered, clapped and whistled.

Outside the church everyone threw confetti at them as they made their way into the limo. At the reception everyone celebrated. Nick pulled Jill aside in the back corner.

“Jill, I feel this is the perfect time, and I’ve gotten the courage to ask you, will you marry me?” Jill threw herself at Nick and started to cry, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

Brian noticed Nick and Jill and started clapping, and everyone else joined when Nick held up Jill’s hand.

“This is the best day of our lives!” Lyndsey exclaimed.

“It seems like everything’s going by so fast,” Jill stated.

“Yeah, but we have the rest of our lives to spend with the guys we love,” Lyndsey replied.

“We sound like a soap opera,” Jill laughed.

Ch.7

(The Honeymoon)

“Oh Brian! This is so romantic!” Lyndsey exclaimed hugging him. After they had left the airport for their flight to Italy.

“You like it?” He asked.

“I love it,” She answered him, as they arrive at the dim lighted nice Italian restaurant.

“I love Italian food,” Brian said.

“Good old mac ‘n cheese too,” Lyndsey laughed. They ordered an extra large bowl of pasta to share.

“Yum…Spaghetti!” Lyndsey said.

Brian put one end in his mouth and Lyndsey put the other in her until their mouths met and they kissed. They then started laughing.

“Brian, thank you so much for everything. You make me feel like a princess. You really mean everything to me,” Lyndsey said.

“That’s because I love you,” He responded, taking Lyndsey’s hand, “Tomorrow we can go see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.”

“That’ll be so cool,” Lyndsey answered.

(The next day)

When they arrived at the tower, Brian came out of the gift shop with a corny imitation tower of Pisa hat on his head.

“You look like a conehead!” Lyndsey burst out laughing.

“Alrighty then…ai ai ai,” Brian said impersonating his idol, Jim Carrey, “I want to see how many people will laugh at me.”

“That wouldn’t be so hard, if you weren’t such a cutie,” Lyndsey grinned.

Brian blushed, “The same would go for you,” He then kissed her hand.

“I think I’m gonna pick up souvenirs for everyone and pick up one of those hats for Rhonda,” Lyndsey said.

“Cool, I’ll help you,” Brian offered.

Lyndsey picked out little models of the tower for Jill, Meghine, Howie and Kevin, and picked out a mug of the tower for Aj, Nick, Danielle and got the cheesy hat for Rhonda.

Brian got out his credit card when Lyndsey put her hand on his said, “No, I can pay. You do everything for me. I want to take care of this,” She said, paying for the souvenirs.

“Let’s go back to the hotel,” Brian grinned,” I’ll show you how much I love you.”

Lyndsey smiled and they headed back to the hotel.

Ch.8

(Back home) (After the Honeymoon)

“Hey how was your honeymoon?” Nick asked Brian as he and Jill welcomed them home.

“It was great!” Lyndsey and Brian both said.

“Guess what? We set our wedding date, it’s May 29th,” Jill announced. “Congratulations!” Brian and Lyndsey said.

“Yeah, we can’t wait,” Nick replied.

“2 weeks from now we’ll both be married,” Jill said to Lyndsey, “Let’s go pick me a dress. We don’t have a lot of planning time.”

Lyndsey and Jill left to go out and get Jill a wedding gown.

“I can unpack later. This is more important,” Said Lyndsey.

“I like this one,” Jill said flipping through a catalogue full of gowns.

“That looks nice, but what about this one?” Lyndsey asked, pointing to a different dress.

“Oh, you’re right, it’s nice, how about-,“ Jill began, staring at another woman in a long, white, silk gown, with a medium veil, with sequins on it.

“That’s it! I want that dress,” Jill said, pointing at it.

“It’s beautiful. Let’s ask if she can get that one for you,” Lyndsey replied.

The store lady said she could get a similar dress, for Jill to pick up in a week.

“I can’t wait to be married to Nick!” Exclaimed Jill, as they were leaving the store.

(2 weeks later) (During the wedding)

“If anyone feels that these two shall not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace,” announced the priest. Jill and Nick stared at each other intensely while there was complete silence, and they smiled at each other.

“Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife,” Said the priest.

Everyone cheered and went outside the church to congratulate them. When everyone arrived at the reception Brian made a toast.

“Frack, buddy. We’ve known each other for a long time. We’re best friends. I truly wish you and Jill eternal happiness. To you,” Brian announced, holding up a glass of wine.

“Let’s cut the cake!” Rhonda announced, holding Kevin’s hand as everyone walked over to watch them. Jill and Nick held the knife and cut into the cake. Jill took some icing and wiped it on Nick’s cheek as Nick wiped some on Jill’s nose, and then shared a kiss. Afterwards, they left for their honeymoon.

“See ya, have fun,” Howie said to them.

“Congrats!” Aj and Meghine said.

“Where are you taking her?” Danielle asked Nick. As Nick and Jill got in their limo Nick called out,

“We’re off to Barbados!” and the limo with the “JUST MARRIED” sign drove off.

Ch.9

(One Month Later)

“You’re what?!” Brian explained, “Oh my gosh!” He continued, picking Lyndsey up, hugging her, spinning her around the room.

“You had to be the first one to know, it’s only fair,” Lyndsey explained. Brian grabbed Lyndsey’s face and kissed her and said,

“I love you, I love you, I love you!” Lyndsey laughed, “I’ve never been happier!”

“This is so great! We’re going to have a family!” Brian exclaimed, excited, grabbing a phone to call his parents to tell them the good news.

Later on Brian took Lyndsey to dinner to celebrate, when they met up with Meghine and Aj.

“Hey guys,” They greeted them.

“We have great news,” Aj said, “Meghine and I are engaged. I know there’s been a lot of weddings lately but that’s why we’re going to wait a few months to plan everything.”

“I’m so happy for you guys,” Lyndsey said, looking a little pale.

“Are you ok hun?” Brian asked.

“Yeah I just feel kinda warm and yucky,” Lyndsey answered.

Lyndsey got up and headed for the washroom.

“Is she ok?” Meghine asked.

“I hope so,” Brian responded, “Well actually it’s probably all the excitement. We actually have some big news ourselves.”

“Really? What is it?” Aj asked.

“Lyndsey and I are going to have a baby,” Brian smiled.

“Congratulations!” Aj said, giving Brian a hug, as Lyndsey came back, he hugged her, “Congratulations on the baby.”

“I’m so happy for you,” Meghine replied.

“Thanks,” Lyndsey said softly.

“Are you ok?” Brian asked, putting his hand on top of hers.

“Yeah. I think I just need some fresh air,” She answered.

Brian and Lyndsey said goodbye and went home. Lyndsey got straight into bed and Brian came upstairs with some chicken noodle soup.

“This always helps me when I’m sick,” He said, stroking her forehead.

“Thanks. I’m sure it’s just everything that’s been happening with weddings and being pregnant. I’ll be fine,” Lyndsey insisted.

“Of course you will. I won’t let anything happen to you,” Brian whispered, “I love you,” as Lyndsey closed her eyes and fell asleep and whispered softly, “I love you Brian.”

Ch.10

(7 months later) (11 pm)

“Hey, I got here as soon as I could! Is Lyndsey alright?” Kevin asked as he arrived when everyone was there.

“She’s having the baby early,” Aj explained.

“Boy, our lives are so hectic! Three marriages and a baby in a year,” Danielle said.

“Sorry guys make that 2 babies,” Jill grinned. Nick leaped out of his seat and yelled, “Yeah!” and hugged Jill tight.

“Our lives are hectic but we’re all with the ones we love,” Howie stated.

“It’ll be ok,” Kevin insisted to his cousin.

“We have to stay happy. I’ll entertain you,” Rhonda said, getting up and doing a ridiculous dance, causing everyone to crack up.

“Mr. Littrell. Lyndsey has asked to see you. She’s ready to have to the baby,” The doctor said, sticking his head in the waiting room.

“Good luck!” Everyone yelled to Brian.

“Give Lyndsey our love and prayers,” Howie called out. Brian smiled and went inside and got some hospitals clothes on.

“This is it,” Brian said, pale.

“Hey, I won’t be the size of a house anymore,” Lyndsey kidded, trying to cheer things up, taking Brian’s hand.

(3 hours later)

“I wonder what’s happening?” Aj said aloud.

“WHOOO! I GOTTA BABY BOY!” Brian’s voice screamed in the delivery room.

Everyone jumped to their feet and cheered, “YES!” Brian opened the doors and hugged everyone and said,

“I can’t believe I have my own baby boy!”

“How are Lyndsey and the baby?” Howie asked.

“Lyndsey’s resting because she’s exhausted, and the baby is small but healthy. He’s 5 pounds 5 ounces,” Brian announced.

After, Brian went back in the delivery room and he and Lyndsey held their son for the first time.

“He’s an angel. Like you,” Lyndsey said, giving Brian a kiss.

“What should we name him?” Brian asked.

“How about James Harold Littrell?” Lyndsey suggested.

“That’s a great name,” Brian smiled.

“I know you liked the name James and Harold after your father of course,” Lyndsey explained.

“I love it, I love our baby, and I love you,” Brian whispered, as they continued to hold their baby boy.

Ch.11

(The next morning)

“Feel up to visitors?” Kevin asked as he popped his head into Lyndsey’s room as she was holding James.

“Sure Kev,” Lyndsey smiled. Kevin and everyone else came in the room to see them.

“Awe, he’s so adorable,” Rhonda said.

“He’s so cute,” I can’t wait until our baby is born Nick,” Jill said.

“Oh my gosh! Congratulations you guys!” Lyndsey replied excited, but softly because she was still tired from the previous night.

“Thanks, we’re happy for you and Brian. Where is that old hubby of yours?” Nick asked.

“He’s gone out to get some coffee,” Lyndsey explained.

“Brian’s been so happy about waiting for the baby. He must be on top of the world right now, telling everyone,” Aj stated.

“Yeah, we’re both happier than ever,” Lyndsey said.

“So what is his name,” Meghine asked, smiling, when the baby grabbed onto her finger.

“James Harold Littrell,” Lyndsey answered happily.

“Awe, it’s the perfect name,” Kevin said.

“Thanks,” Lyndsey whispered.

“Well we’d better go. You must be exhausted,” Nick said, leaning over to give her a hug, “We’ll come back later, bye,” He smiled.

Everyone else hugged her goodbye as Brian came in and he went out with them.

“We’re really happy for you man,” Aj said.

“Let us know if you guys need anything,” Kevin said, hugging Brian and saying goodbye.

“Thanks Kev,” Brian answered. After everyone had left Brian went back into Lyndsey’s hospital room where she was already asleep. Brian shifted her over and lay down beside her. He placed her hand in his and moved closer and then fell asleep beside her.

Ch.12

(3 days later)

“Well we’re home. This time as a family,” Brian said, as he held James in his carrier’s seat, placing it softly on the ground.

Lyndsey followed, as Brian unlock the front door. After they all got settled in, and James had gone for his nap, Brian and Lyndsey stood by his crib watching him.

"I can’t believe that we have our own family,” Lyndsey stated.

“Me neither, but I’m glad we do. It took a while for us to admit we were in love but when we did our lives have been so great. We get married and now have a baby,” Brian exclaimed.

“I know we’re going to be great parents! I love you and James so much!” Lyndsey answered, hugging Brian tight, as they both stared down at James.

(2 years later)

(Jill and Nick have a 2-year-old baby girl, named Alyssa Nicole Carter. Meghine and Aj are married and expecting a baby. Kevin and Rhonda and Howie and Danielle are engaged.)

“Jamie!” Lyndsey yelled, running down the hall. Brian saw Lyndsey race by and he laughed, and walked into the kitchen and picked up James as he ran in the room.

Lyndsey sighed and said, “Jamie, honey. You need to get your shoes on.”

Brian held James as Lyndsey put his shoes on.

“This whole parenting thing is harder than I thought,” Lyndsey replied.

“Yeah, but you’re a great mommy,” Brian smiled, kissing her forehead.

Brian, Lyndsey and James headed over to Jill and Nick’s house.

“Hey!” They welcomed them. James ran into the living room to the tv yelling,

“Boos coos! Boos coos!” “Oh, he wants to watch Blues Clues again,” Brian said.

“Hey Alley sweetie. Sit down with Jamie and watch Blues Clues,” Nick said sitting Alyssa down on the floor.

Brian, Lyndsey, Jill and Nick visited for a while.

“Well I have something important to tell you guys, especially to Brian,” Lyndsey began, taking Brian’s hand,” I’m going to have another baby.”

“Wahoo!” Brian exclaimed, jumping up, hugging her.

“Congratulations you guys,” Jill and Nick said as the phone rang.

“Hello? What? We’ll be right there?” Jill exclaimed, hanging up,” Meghine’s about to have the baby! Let’s go!”

Ch.13 (At the hospital)

“Aj! What happened?” Lyndsey asked, as Brian followed carrying James, and Jill was carrying Alyssa and Nick followed after.

Aj hugged everyone, “I have a girl, and a boy! Meghine had twins!”

“Oh my! We are so happy for you!” Jill exclaimed. Later on after Meghine had rested and everyone else had arrived they all went in to see Meghine, Aj, and the babies.

“How are you doing?” Rhonda asked Meghine.

“I couldn’t be happier,” She answered.

“I can’t believe you had twins! Have you picked names?” Danielle asked.

“Well, we picked a name if it were to be a girl, and we picked a name if it were to be a boy, so now we can use both. We chose Alexa Joanne Denise McLean and Robert Matthew Daniel McLean,” Aj explained.

“Those are great names. I’m truly happy for you and Meghine,” Howie responded.

“Our lives have changed so much. We all dreamed we’d all get married and have families and now our dreams are coming true,” Brian stated, as everyone smiled and nodded.
