Firm Foundation

 

When a man builds a house he lays first of all a foundation.  If not put down properly it could give or shift causing the building to sag or even split & crack.

Same way in our life..We need a good foundation to build our life one that we can stand on.

 

He has laid the foundation-the Word of God- The living word Jesus Christ

 

2 Tim. 2:9"... The Foundation of God standeth sure.." this foundation gives one a stable life.

 

Luke 6:46-49

 

I cor. 3:10 "For no other foundation can no man lay that that which is laid which is Jesus Christ"  Grace and truth come by him

 

The truth is a sure foundation for a man to build his life upon for Jesus said" I am the truth."  The words he spoke they are the truth & grace...

 

In court if a case is based on truth it will stand--shaded truths or lies will not stand.  "Well judge maybe I did and maybe I didn't" Steve.

cannot build life on maybe it's OK-Church of Christ cannot stand on maybe's.

 

Rom. 10:17 & Rom. 14:23

1 Tim. 3:15 "... the Church is the pillar and gound of the truth..."

 

Christ build his Church on truth and sent the H.G. that his apostles would not make any error in setting up his church.

 

Jesus said "my words they are truth and life"

 

When our life, marriage, home, Church is built on the Living Word of God it is on truth.. it will stand.

 

Have we laid this foundation- Having Laid it do we stand on it.

 

2 Thes. 3:3 "Therefore brethern stand fast, and hold the traditons which ye have been taught whether by word or our espistle."

 

Heb. 13:9 "Be not carried about with divers doctorines.  For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace."

 

Be ready to give an answer

 

Saul- the People...Pilate knew he was not guilty

 

Do we give in to presure of others

 

Esther 4:14  God may have put us here to stand

 

Do we stand for truth and right 

 

Peter alone denied - t.v. show-- girl and drunk driver

 

Heb. 10:23 "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering"

 

Let's stand on our faith & stand up for it. The Lord will not let us down.  His word will stand--he keeps his promises.

 

2 Thes. 3:3 "But the Lord is faithful who shall stablish you and keep you from all evil.."

 

Maybe disliked even hated--though like Christ

 

Christ stood against the opposition. 

He stood for the truth & Didn't comprise nor lie--stood alone

 

He said "Am I your enemy because I tell you the truth"

 

Christ had enemies because he spake the truth but he was victorious in the end

 

We too can be-- God will keep us from evil (lost soul)

 

Let's be doers of God's word and not just hears

James 1:16-25

 

Are we like JELLO or CONCRETE

Both add water- one looks pretty & sweet but when it gets hot it melts.  The other is hard, firm- not chosen for looks but for firmness.
