Have a Message

I Kings 13:1-3 ... man of God had a message, you should to

 

 1Pe 3:14-16 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;  15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:  16 ¶ Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

 

We are to study - give diligence  -  meditate on God's word.  That we may know how to answer every man.

 

God keeps a record! Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

 

II Tim. 2:15

 

Col. 4:3-6

You may not be able to preach from the pulpit - in fact some are forbidden by God's word. I Cor 14:34.

But you are to have a message - a sermon - Both in the way that you live and by what you say.  A living sermon.

 

Women as well as men should be able to instruct, write a sermon.. give a lesson.  Tell people where or what the Bible says.  We are all to study, be able to answers others, be teachers.

 

Heb. 5:11-14 ... Every one is to teach Titus 2:1-8

 

Acts 8:1-4 Women had a role in this as well as men.  We see that the preachers (apostles) stayed at Jerusalem.  They were Christians just like us, men and women.

 Ac 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

 Ro 16:1 ¶ I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:   Maybe she help write sermons or help in visitation or other ways.  She surely went to Rome for some church business (she delivered a message from Paul) and served the Church at Cenchrea.

 

My wife use to write sermons for me and she often helps with idea etc.

She sometimes helps Randy now.

 

All of you who do not teach form the Pulpit could write a sermon, come up a sermon idea, make a sermon outline, and share it with those who do  preach form the pulpit.

 

Sermons and sermon ideas come all kinds of ways and forms.  Poems, word studies, passage of scripture to center around, topics, events in life, stories, nursery rhymes, or songs.

 

Sermons can be written out word by word like articles, they can be outlines, or short statements about what is to be said.  It doesn't matter that much about grammar, spelling or proper English.  The Ideas  and message is what is important.

 

I challenge each of you write a sermon a month.  Write in what ever form or manner suits you or fits your style.  But develop and write a sermon.

Bring to Church  .... we'll put it in a book and keep it here.... do not have to put you name ... the message is what is important ... the learning that comes form it is what is important ... you will grow and those who hear or read your sermon will grow.

You can do it!  Every Christian is to have a message.

We are the Church, the pillar and ground of the truth.

 1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

 

 Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

 Ro 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
