Are we Robbing God

Today in this country it is profitable for a person to be called a Christian.  Honors and rewards for a church goer are good.

This is why any politician wants to establish the fact that he belongs to a Church group

There are many … many physical and social rewards for the person who is a church goer.

Some churches offer such things as a basketball, bowling, softball, etc to draw people to them.  And people are drawn to the church for the wrong reasons … building

People who come to church for these reasons are serving themselves and not God.

There are many who come to be seen dress and social aspect friends pride

It brings honor and prestige form fellow men and a social ring that one can belong to and benefit by belonging to a church.

In the US today many go belong to a church for the wrong reasons.

We are robbing God just as the Israelites were.

Mal. 3:7-9

Do we keep his commandments??? Not as a people nor as a nation … Any talk about going right by the bible is frowned upon and sometimes counted as judgmental and wrong .

God does not change unless we return to him we will be cursed and if we will repent and turn to him he will pour out a blessings more than we can receive.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

As he pleaded with Israel to return  unto him he pleads with us to return unto him.

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Tithes is just one way that they robbed God.  They were commanded to return a tenth of their blessings, tithe.

Today we are told to give as we have been prospered.

1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Today we are told to give cheerfully and willingly.

2 Cor. 9:6-7

Do we give willingly, cheerfully as we have been prospered.

They also robbed God in their sacrifices.  They polluted God’s alter and dishonored him even the priest corrupted the covenant.

Mal. 1:6-10

Mal 2:8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

10 ¶ Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

They were partial in teaching the law.

We Robb God today when we wear the name Christian and do not live as a Christian nor do our duty.

Do we worship God in Spirit and truth as we find in John 4:24? Or do we attend for the social life and see our friends?  Do we attend services regular or at all?

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Do we do good unto all men as we find in Gal. 6:10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Or do only do good for those who have our favor, and may be able to repay in some way.  Are we respecters of persons?

James 2:1-9

Do we set our affections on heavenly things as we find Col. 3:22 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Do we study as we find in 2 Timothy 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Are we keeping God’s commandments and doing our Christian duty.

Ecc 12:13 Paul puts it this way in Rom. 12:1-2

Christ said in Luke 17:10 10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

If we 0nly do our duty then we are unprofitable servants!

Are we keeping his commandments by living our scarifies for Christ thus doing our Christian duty/

Php 1:21 ¶ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Our nation today is facing moral decay, and troubles on every front because it is robbing God

Mal 3:2-3 Christ bought judgement to Israel.

Next time judgment to the whole world. 2Ti 4:1 ¶ I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

I am afraid that the description of Israel describes us.

Isiah 3:12-23 &  Jere. 5:6-9

Are we robbing God just as they were, are we guilty?
