Wicked nation

I have lived in a very blessed time in a very blessed nation. Our Country seems to be on the threshold of very bad times and people wonder why.  Today we are in a more dangerous situation than the days of the Cold War.  We may well be headed into a time worse than the days of the great depression or the dust bowl.  Many blame the government, the president, the world but do not look at the real source.  It is not the government, nor industries, nor our own will and intelligence that blessed us.  God protected us, blessed us, enabled us to win World War II, and the cold war.  It is God!  He is one who gave the blessing.  He can take it away.

Jere. 18:1-11

God could easily take away our power, he could remove our blessings.  He did with men before the flood, with Sodom, with Israel and with the Jews.  Consider these examples when God punished these people.  He could bring Judgment upon the United States of America or return and end it all for us.

The Flood – Gen. 6:5-7 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  6 ¶ And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Mt 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,  39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

They did not hear Noah and his preaching. They thought they were wise, smart, and intelligent.  They thought they did not need God!

Romans 1:18-32

Sodom  - Gen. 3:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.  Gen. 19:6-8

Ge 19:24 ¶ Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;  These people had no idea that the Judgment of God was coming upon them and the ones who received warning laughed at it.  Only Lot and his 2 daughters escaped.

Israel  -  Jer 5:6-31  He brought Judgment upon them  by Assyria and then Babylon!  2Kings 17:23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day. 

10 Lost Tribes  - Then Babylon took Judah away in to capativity.  They killed, they tore down the temple and the City of Jerusalem. They removed the Ark of God!  They removed the people!

Jews in Christ day -  Mt 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,  8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mt 23:13 ¶ But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. 

They made merchandise of Faith in God!  They were better

Mt 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Mat. 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!  38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.  39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

When Jesus died on the cross, it was an end to all the animal sacrifices, the Passovers, the Holy of Holies behind the veil.

Mt 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Lu 23:44-46 ¶ And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.  45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.  46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Then in the year 70 AD Rome came upon Jerusalem.  (Tell what happened)  The temple is destitute, the Mask of Ohmer sits on top the Sanctuary. Impossible to carry out their worship

Our society has the same things going on that the Jews had, the Israelites had, Sodom had, and as before the flood.  Churches are worldly, concern more with money than man’s soul.  Merchandising religion and faith.  Teachers prophesy falsely and bear rule by their means and people love it.  Men and women practicing what they did in Sodom.  Many are trying to remove God from our society.  We have more more tolerances to sin.  But what can we do?
