Uranus

Uranus is 2,870,990,000 km from the sun. It is 51,118 km in diameter and 8.683e25 kg in mass.

Uranus's temperature is -357 degrees F. It's name in Greek is god of the skies.

Uranus is composed primarily of rock and various ices with 15% hydrogen and a little helium. It's atmosphere is 83% hydrogen, 15% helium and two percent methane. It is a gas planet and has rings.

One of it's special features is it's blue color which is the result of absorption of red light by methane in the upper atmosphere. There may be colored bands like Jupiter's but they are hidden from view by the methane layer.

Uranus has 20 satellites of which 5 have been recently discovered. They are Cordelia, Ophelia, Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Belinda, 1986UI0, Puck, Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, Oberon, Calibin, 1999U1, Sycorax, and 1999U2.
