IN THE DUGOUT!!!

This week on In The Dugout, we will be looking at the key injuries in the GSBL. How did these injuries occur and how long will they be out for? These are some of the questions that we will be answering and we will also interview a GM on the topic.

1. The Worst Injury in the League
2. The Best Way To Replace Your Injuried Player(s)
3. Notable Injuries
4. Interview

1. One of the worst injury in the league is Randy Johnson. This will really hurt the Cleveland Indians because of their lack of pitching. This injury occur while pitching. The diagnosis is a torn back muscle. He will likely be out all of the season! Also the Indians have 2 more players that are out for the season, both of them pitchers. And they also have a pitcher who will miss another start.

2. You can replace your injuried player by looking into your minor league system and your top prospects and seeing which has been improving the most and then you can promote him to the majors. You can also trade some of your backups for one solid player that can fill in for the time. There might also be a free agent that you could give a job to. Last but not least, if there is a draft coming up, you could wait till the draft and pick up a player to replace your injuried player.

3. Some notable inuuries are the Red Sox, Preston Wilson, who will be out 4 weeks. Baltimore's Jared Sandberg who will be out 3-4 weeks with an inflamed rotator cuff muscle. The Twin's Mike Lowell who is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Houston's Ken Griffey Jr. is out the full season with a ruptured disc back. The Card's Jeff Kent is also out the full season with a torn back muscle. Corey Patterson who is on the Cubs is another player out for the full season with a broken knee. Roy Halladay has a ruptured back disc which will put with out of the Rockies lineup the whole season. But the worst injury of all is Justin Huber. Most people don't even know who he is. He is only 20 years old, playing baseball for the Tampa Bay Devils Rays, or atleast he was. Justin has a torn calf muscle that will shorten his career because he will no longer be able to play baseball. It was a career ending injury. And also Richardo Aramboles will be out his whole career will a torn tricep muscle. He is 21 years old and was pitching for the Reds

4. Interview with BMills2423 (Astros GM)

Me: What was the worst injury on your team this year?

Astros GM: Ken Griffey Jr. right after I trade for him.. it was UNBELIEVABLE!

Me: Do you think that if a player is on the tired list for to long that it could lead to an injury?

Astros GM: Mmm... I don't think so... I think being on the tired list will just hurt his production a lot more.

Me: How did you replace Ken Griffey Jr.?

Astros GM: Well you really can't replace a Ken Griffey Jr. though I was lucky enough to have Mark Kotsay to fill in at CF but then I had to put Ruban Sierra at DH and production was down.

IN THE DUGOUT!

This week on In The Dugout, we will be looking at the future of baseball, the minor leagers. Which team has the best system and which team has the worst? I will help answer all these questions and will be interviewing a GM.

1. Best Minor Leaguer
2. Best Minor League System
3. Worst Minor League System
4. Interviews

1. The best minor leaguer, who is ranked number 1 is Ian Ferguson. He is on the Florida Marlins, who in the future should be bringing this player up. Since the Marlins are in last place and only 3 starting pitchers, they could really use this guy some time down the road. Who knows, this starting pitcher could be their next ace. He has great control and could get many K's. He throws a fastball, changeup, curveball, and a nasty splitfinger-fastball. Ferguson is 6-2 in the minors this season, which is one of the best records on the AAA team, the Albuquerque Isotopes. The Florida Marlins should keep their eye on this kid. He could be going places.

2. The team with the best minor leaguer also has the best minor league system, the Florida Marlins. They also have minor leaguer who is ranked 2nd. He is first baseman, Prince Fielder. He might not have the best speed but he can really hit the ball. He doesn't strikeout much and can draw the walks. He can also tear the cover right off the baseball with a homerun. In 44 games, he already has 11 homeruns and 33 RBI's and has 19 base on balls. They also have Jesse Foppert who is ranked number 6. He is a starting pitcher who has a great arm. He is also a great clutch preformer. In a few years, Ferguson and Foppert could be the Marlins 1-2 punch. They also have the speedy and great contact hitter Rickie Weeks. They also have catcher Miguel Olivo, who has been in the majors before for a short time. He can hit for power but the best thing about him is his defense. He will stop any ball at any time, no matter how bad the pitch may be. He also has a great arm and can throw out any runner trying to sweep a base.

3. The Seattle Mariners and the Arizona D'Backs have the worst minor league systems. Both of them don't even have a minor leaguer ranked in the top 100! Even though they are both competing for a division title, in the future they both could be competing for last place if they dont get better minors.

4. Interview with HoLLaBaCkYoo (Dodgers GM)

Me: Do you think your minor leaguers will ever come up and be great major leaguers or do u think that they will just become washed-up bums?

Dodgers GM: I think some have great potential and will come to the majors and make an impact. Only time will tell.

Me: Who do you think in your minor league system has the greatest potential?

Dodgers GM: Jason Weryth and Richardo Rodriguez i think both will be in my majors and contribute once they develope

Me: Do you think your minor league system is the best it can be or do you think it could be better?

Dodgers GM: I think it can very well be improved and I'm looking to improve it but as of now im pretty happy with the potential and possibilities they represent.
