Jack Skellington

Tim Burton's main character in this epic tale, The Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, is by far the most complex character in the movie. Halloween Town's most prestigious citizen, Jack can be slightly conceded yet with good reason. All over the Mortal World, there most likely isn't a nightmare story that doesn't have something to do with this skeleton. For that reason, every member of the Halloween Town society worships Jack for his skill. But it's lonely at the top, as the saying goes. After years of admiration, Jack is getting bored with repeditive Halloweens. Upon wandering into the woods after the Halloween celebration, Jack discovers six holiday portals. This discovery will inevitably change the Holiday Worlds for better or worse.

Jack is obviously smarter than the other creatures of Halloween Town. The town's mayor relies more on Jack to run the city than himself, and the rest of the citizens know that. Exactly how this reputation of perfection got started is a mystery and never explained in the movie. It is known, however, that even after the fiasco caused by those six portals, the town folk worshipped Jack even more for having terrified thousands of people at one time. Whether that was the intent or not, and it was certainly not Jack's plan, everything is settled after which as Jack comes to terms with himself. After all, there is only one Pumpkin King.
