My Turkish Friend
This is for my friend Koray,
My Turkish Friend whom I met today.
This is a proud Turkish man proud of his country that he
honors in his own
way.
Pictures of big rolling hills and wave filled seas.
Monuments that have stood their ground proudly,
some for centuries.
The flag with the star surrounded by its own moon.
The wolf runs so free and proud,
who gives of its howl to the night so
soon.
The soldier in his tall fur hat, guarding the
gates of the palace so
proud.
The cry of the silence in the gardens that say
nothing in elegance out
loud.
The dunes of the clay built ancient city still occupied today.
The land so lavishly pretty, honoring
it's heritage to stay this way.
And the heart of the kind and peaceful Guy that
I am getting to know so
well.
Let's us know our life is definitely great for us all
to be so diverse,
but to relate to each other so swell
