The Homeless Church lives in a Church bus in the downtown streets of San Franisco. Three years ago Pastor Evans Prosser received a vision from the Lord Jesus to sell their home, buy a bus and move to San Franciso to minister to the Homeless. The Church Bus travels the streets to feed the Homeless both in food and Bible Studies of spiritual food. Every Sunday the whole Homeless Church gets together and attends the City View Christian Church Services. Though generious donation another bus was also given to them. Pastor Evans and his lovely wife April, turned one of the Church buses into their living quarters. The other bus is to hold Church Bible Studies and used to transport the Homeless to local Church events.

This is the story of the Homeless Christians who lives were changed by accepting Jesus into their hearts.

THE HOMELESS CHURCH NEWSLETTER JAN/FEB 1998

CATHY and her 17 old son SHANE have come to know Jesus as their Saviour. They have been coming as regulars at the Church Services and Bible Studies. She was a homeless drug addict for years. They both are amazed at the peace and joy that Jesus gives, that is now a part of their lives.

After all night prayer on Friday Febuaray 6, BILL, who had been asleep outside the bus in the rain in a box with a tarp over it. He has been coming alot to our Bible Studies and at one point dashed out to call his sister, who he hadn't talked to in 4 years. He came back relieved. He just wanted to make sure she was saved. As for Bill, he seems like a changed man himself.

Pastor Evan met MUNIERE, a young Muslim man from Morocco, in the coffee line. When he said he honored Jesus as a prophet, Pastor Evan asked him if he has ever read what Jesus himself said. Muniere said no. So Pastor Evans gave him the Bible of the Book of John, which he read with great interest, greatly moved by reading about the crucifixion. He has been to a Christian Church and says there is more of a feeling of peace there than in the mosques. Please pray for him and continue to keep him in your prayers.

STEVE a former attender of our Bible Studies, is now in the aids home in Wichita holding Bible Studies. At last report, they were volunteers looking for volunteers and staff, and he hopes to get some of his fellow patients interested in sharing the Gospel too.

GENE is a wonderful artist and he helped to paint the inside of the back of the bus with the words "JESUS IS CHRIST THE LORD"

WILL, a Vietnam vet who was saved in Eugene Oregon, but drifted away, is now coming back to the Lord. Praise The Lord ! He is helping with the sound system at the City View Christian Church. He has been a blessing to help us do some much needed mechanical work on the Church bus.

HAROLD,has been getting straight A's this year attending his UBTC classes. The Lord has helped him to buy a newly purchased Rambler. Harold helps alot by taking over Bible Classes when Evan is not there. He loves to witnesses to others, and enjoys pitching in to help when ever he can. HE REAL LOVES JESUS

Funerals

LONG JOHN, a former Bible Studies attender, died in jail. His girlfriend ERIN, held amemorial service for him January 3, at what used to be called " the Land of the Lost in Hunter's Point." Pastor Evan read scripture passages from Ecclesiastes. He encouraged those there from the Word that Jesus has taken care of sin and death for us. That death is not the end for those that beleive in Jesus. Alot of red roses floated out into the bay towards the ocean, after the service.

CARL, two weeks after Long John's death, was struck by a Muni bus while riding his bicycle on Third Street. As he, still in quite a daze state, tried to retreive his bicycle. He was hit again by a semi truck. He died a few hours later. We took Pepsi his friend, to the family funeral for him helded in the city of Oakland. It was clear that Carl had grown up in a Christ centered home.

Pastor Evan comments " both these men had heard the Gospel of Jesus from us, as well as from others too. They had been to one or two Bible Studies and Services. We know that God is good, and that time is short. Funerals are always very sad occasions, some sadder than others."

MARVIN, was saved in April 1994 and came to the Bible Studies Faithfuly, until he and his friend left for Southern Calif. in December 1994. His testimony for Jesus is in the Nov.- Dec. 1994 Newsletter. Now he is BACK - - still serving the Lord, although in the midst of great trials.

RICHARD and JIM are living in their vans in South San Francisco now. Richard is working steadily at a machine shop there, and both are staying STRONG IN THE LORD.

LISA is now faithfuly coming to the Golden Gate Park Bible Studies every Tuesday.

SKIP is very capably handling the Monday night Bible Studies whenever Pastor Evan and his wife April is away. Thank you Skip! Your a blessing !

VISITING

The Peninsula Section Women's Ministries of the Assemblies of God realy poured out their love on us last Christmas, with a wonderful brunch at Cross-roads Christian Center. Zillions of presents given to the Homeless, we wer surprized and overwhelmed. Sister Janie Cook, the head of the organization, showed us a wonderful time even though she had just a few days before, been hit by a car and was far from recovered.

On Febuary 15th, Harold went with us to Full Life Christian Center to worship with our brethren in Christ. We Shared what God has been doing in this ministry and how many lives are touched. Harold was so impressed with the services there. Its a privilege to visit that Church.

The weekend of Febuary 20th to 23rd, we plan to spend a weekend fellowshipping, relaxing, and teaching with the Prodigal Project at their discipleship home in Leggitt. We can't wait!
