The Tower Dungeon

Climb the stairs to the demon's lair:
the Dungeon of the Ice Castle,
his chamber atop the North Tower.
Once, atop these stairs,
behind closed doors, the demon
brought to life
his darkest
fantasies.

But the demon was defeated, and now
the tower walls hold only those dark memories
of the Beast
who lived
within.

A new resident
has made her home
within the Dungeon Tower,
and seeks
to brighten it with song,
and gentle dreams.

But the memories remain,
staining the ice,
etched
in the chains.
