This is my analyzation of the songs on the first Canadian CD. I don’t have the U.S. CD so I can’t analyze that and I also don’t have either of the European CDs. Most of the songs on the European CDs are on the Canadian CDs and the Canadian CDs have a bunch of songs that aren’t on the US CD but they’re not all on the same CD. I don’t have any of the single CDs or the shape CDs, except Nick’s.
“We’ve Got it Going On” is the first song. It’s about how the Backstreet Boys have it going on for years. And it’s true! The BsB have been around since 1993 or something, and now it’s ’99 and they’re still around! I like this song a lot.
The 2nd song is “Get Down.” This song is way cool. It has 2 raps, the first with all the Boys and the second, immediately following the first, just A.J. This song is, I think, how I first heard about the Backstreet Boys! A couple of girls lip-synched it at a talent show and I liked the song so then I got the CD for a present. That’s why this song is one of my all-time favourite songs.
The third song is called “I'll Never Break Your Heart.” It’s a really nice song, a sweet love ballad. Kevin, at the beginning, says something–I don’t know what, I never bothered to listen to the wordsjust his deep, appealing voice.
“Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” is the name of the fourth song, a great song. It’s about somebody whose girlfriend keeps playing games with his heart, and he doesn’t like it at all. He wants to turn back time to when she wasn’t playing games. He wants her to stop before she tears their couple apart.
The 5th song is called “Boys Will Be Boys.” With its fast tempo, good use of instruments, and not too complicated lyrics (especially at the end), it makes a really fantastic song!
“Just to be Close” is the sixth track, and it’s a super song. I think it’s about a new couple who just want to be close to each other. “I just wanna be close to you!”
The seventh song is “I Wanna Be With You,” an up-beat dance song that, if it was a single, would probably be on tons of collections. It’s one of my favourite songs on the CD. "I wanna be with you. It’s crazy but it’s true.”
The 8th song is called "Every Time I Close My Eyes”. It’s not too fast or too slow, which is a nice change. In this song it talks about a person who closes his eyes and sees his girlfriend and wonders if she’s thinking about him. He realizes that he wants to be with her...but it might be too late.
“Darlin’” is the second-last song. I don’t like it at all. It’s too slow, it’s very boring, and the Backstreet Band part isn’t anything to get excited about.
The last song is "Roll With It.” It’s a pretty good song, not the best on the CD though. OK...I just heard a metaphor in it! "The world’s a stage” or something like that! That’s the example I got when I looked up "metaphor” in the dictionary once!

In conclusion, I like all the songs on Backstreet Boys except "Darlin’”. For my analyzation of Backstreet’s Back, click here, and here for Millennium. Back to the main page
