Dumbass comics #3

by Neill Cameron

Available from There goes Tokyo...

I was waiting for this one. Though I haven't reviewed issue #2 I've been harping on about the bloody thing since I got hold of it in January. I've been waiting none too patiently since.

Camerons art has improved since #2, his linework is more confident and his panelwork's exceptional.

Featuring a blind amputee immigrant lesbian pope, ninja nuns, an undersexed panda and more "bad words" than you can shake a dick at, this sees Cameron at his best.

Intricate cityscape backdrops evocative of "Ghost in the shell" and a plot that feels a little like blade runner meets the likely lads, but angier, make this a wonderful piece of lightweight small press escapism.

My only complaint is with "Blippy the space baby" filler, the only page where the artwork appears rushed. It feels like dead space that could have been filled more wisely.

Again a great comic from Cameron worth getting hold of.
