I remember Thrud from my mis-spent wargaming youth. All black and grisly on the pages of white dwarf magazine back in the day. I used to love the big bastard, but I'd frankly forgotten he existed. I'll admit I picked this up for the nostalgia factor, to my surprise, it's gotten better, much much better.
Issue 1 sees Thrud the barbarian getting the wrong end of the stick and, well, hitting people with it. in colour. with monsters. Loverly.
Beautifully produced, violent, funny, unashamedly British and dumber than a bag of hammers. Worth tracking down. I won't forget again.
