Cobalt Lake
The hike to Cobalt Lake is very beautiful and one of the most impressive hikes in the park. Round trip is 11.4 miles, and the trail gains about 1400 ft. of elevation. The hike heads through the forest on the side of Two Medicine Lake. A short side trail leads to Aster Falls at 1.2 miles. At 2.4 miles the trail heads up the Paradise Creek Valley and arrives at Rockwell Falls at 3.5 miles. After Rockwell Falls the trail becomes steeper and the trail heads up to Cobalt Lake. When we took this hike in early July, the last mile was covered in snow and the trail was hard to find. Cobalt Lake sits at the base of the continental divide, and those who wish to continue can ascend to the divide by following the trail to Two Medicine Pass.
