My Family!

My daughter Ashleigh, Me & my husband Garry

We are very isolated.
The nearest town to where I live is 17 miles away. That little town has a general store/post office/gas station/cabin rentals all rolled into one. It also has a bar/cafe combination, a motel, auto repair shop, a two room elementary school, and a little church. The nearest "real" town is 60 miles away. But even that town isn't a very large one, pop. 2000 give or take a few. We usually drive to Billings to do our grocery shopping once a month, that's a three hour drive one way.

Garry & I went on a wonderful trip in November of 2003. We drove to Florida & back & spent 2 fun weeks at Disney World! What fun we had! We swam with dolphins, rode on roller coasters & just had a blast! We can't wait to do it again.
We had intended to go in November of 2002 but Garry had a terrifying wreck on a horse in May 2002. He was attempting to rope a calf & the horse was running at full speed. He headed over a small embankment & the ground gave way. The horse catapulted forward onto it's face ejecting Garry into the opposite embankment. Doctors estimated he hit the ground on his head at approximately 55 miles per hour. He broke his neck severely & we are very fortunate God was with us. The doctors said they couldn't figure out why he was alive, much less up & walking around. Two surgeries later, & a year's worth of recovery time he is back to his riding & roping just like nothing ever happened. The only difference is he has lost some mobility in his neck. We are so blessed!
This wreck woke us up a little though. Starting in June 2004, I will be returning to college. We need to have a back-up plan if Garry should not be able to do ranching anymore. I will be attending the Western Culinary Institute (ala Le Cordon Bleu) in Portland Oregon. I will take our cat Bagherra & live in the camper for the school session of almost a year. When I graduate I will be a Le Cordon Bleu Certified Pastry Chef! I am very excited about this prospect but at the same time being separated from Garry will be the hardest thing I'll ever have to do.
