What you see above is the exact art from an uberkarnies poster promoting their early 2000 to summer 2000 pantsless tour, and the cover art from blur's "best of" album released in late summer early autumn. As you may notice, the two images are profoundly similar. What a cop out blur!!!!
There is almost no confirmed word out yet as to what the two bands truly think about this. The uberkarnies, mostly avid fans of blur, are most likely feeling a bit baffled by the cover art from blur. As to whether or not the feeling will be followed by anger or flattery is yet noted. So far, there is only a few comments from one uk member. Off the record, Angus the left handed one, tells us that he thinks "it's typical of the music industry today", when asked if he thought the art thievery was typical of blur themselves, he said "no, 'cos I kinda like them".
Either way, they have had their art shat on by blur. Since they are a local up and coming band and blur is internationally famous, the uberkarnies can no longer have their promotional art socially accepted. The masses will claim that the UK has ripped off blur, when indeed it is the 'karnies who are the victims.
We await a press conference with the uberkarnies while currently accepting fans' of both bands comments. Hopefully we will also recieve a statement or an apology from blur as well. Check back to this site for more info as it occurs. Also check out the uberkarnies online site for more info on this controversy.
