Mandy Moore, who was born on April 10, 1984 in Nashua, NH, was discovered while working on a theme song for a TV piolet. A demo was made soon after and she was snatched up by Sony Records. Her first single "Candy" is out now and is making it's way up the charts now. The music video has been made, and is quite cool! This young diva has lived in Orlando, Florida since she was seven weeks old.
Mandy was a dancer for seven years and was a cheerleader for Pop Warner Football. She started taking voice lessons at the age of nine. Her first theater role was as Ngana in "South Pacific". She has appeared in over a dozen plays in the Central Florida area and has had lead roles in "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Guys and Dolls".
She went to Stagedoor Manor, a performing academy in New York, for 2 summers. Mandy has sung the American national athem for almost every major sports teams. She was the voice of "Ducky" for the movie "Land Before Time" and has done some modeling. Mandy has performed at the White House and Opryland.
In her free time, which I imagine is not much, Mandy loves to shop, hang out with friends and plays lacrosse.
On the weekend of October 9-10, Mandy's song 'Candy' was the highest jumper on the Rick Dee's Top 40 Countdown! WAY TO GO SISTER!
I just saw Mandy Moore in concert on November 12, 1999 when she opened for The Backstreet Boys. She did an amazing job.
