There are some things you need to know before reading Excepting Destiny. Serena doesn’t become Super Sailor Moon or Eternal Sailor Moon. The outer scouts have been discovered. The Starlights may or may not appear in a later story. Rini will come in a later story as Sailor Chibi Moon. Chibi Chibi will also make an appearance in a later story. It was a beautiful spring day. The sun shone warmly and the gentle breeze carried the scent of flowers. Serena sat under a tree eating her lunch with Molly and Lita.
“Isn’t it a wonderful day?” Serena asked.
“Yeah, it sure is,” Lita answered.
“Hidey Ho!” Melvin said as he came up from behind the tree.
“What is it Melvin?” Molly asked.
“Have you guys seen the new girl? She’s beautiful! And she’s smart! Not to worry Molly, you’re still my one and only,” Melvin said.
“What’s her name?” Lita asked. Melvin took out his notebook.
“From my notes, her name is Aeris. She comes from a very rich family. She is a straight “A” student. Her parents just died in a ski accident and she moved here to start a new life,” Melvin said.
“She’s probably a snob with all those millions to herself. She probably paid someone to kill her parents so that she could inherit all their money,” said Molly.
“Now Molly, you don’t know that. She’s probably very nice,” Serena argued.
“There she is!” Melvin said. They all looked to where he pointed. There stood a beautiful young girl. She had shoulder length, dark red hair. She had flashy, emerald eyes. Just then she noticed them staring and started over.
“Hello. My name is Aeris. Who are all of you?” she asked in a calming voice.
“My name is Serena. This is Molly, Lita, and Melvin,” Serena answered.
“Pleased to meet all of you,” Aeris replied. Just then the bell rang.
“Well I hope to see all of you again. Bye,” Aeris said as she turned to leave.
“Yes she was very nice. But there was something about her,” Serena said.
All the Scouts were at Raye’s temple and had started talking about Aeris. Just then Luna and Artemis came running up.
“Sailor Scouts! There is a monster attacking people in the park! MOVE!” Luna yelled.
MERCURY STAR POWER!
MARS STAR POWER!
JUPITER STAR POWER!
VENUS STAR POWER!
PLUTO PLANET POWER!
URANUS PLANET POWER!
NEPTUNE PLANET POWER!
SATURN PLANET POWER!
MOON CRYSTAL POWER!
All the Scouts transformed and headed for the park. When they arrived, they saw a hideous monster on the rampage. He wasn’t huge. It was a little taller than Uranus. They wasted no time.
“Mercury Bubbles Blast!” Her bubbles created a thick layer of fog. The monster couldn’t see them.
“Uranus World Shaking!” This knocked the beast down.
“Venus Love Chain Encircle!” The chain restrained the monster.
“Now Sailor Moon!” Sailor Neptune yelled. Sailor Moon decided to use her tiara.
“Moon Tiara Magic!” She threw the tiara straight at the monster.
Just then a dark shield of energy surrounded the beast and he became stronger. The tiara bounced right off him. The Scouts looked on in shock.
“Jupiter Thunder Claps Zap!” The claps bounced off the monster.
“Saturn Silence Glaive Surprise!”
“Neptune Deep Submerge!”
“Mars Celestial Fire Surround!” “Pluto Dead Scream!” All their attacks were useless.
They kept fighting. The monster threw them left and right. They were all exhausted. Tuxedo Mask arrived but was quickly dealt with. Just then they heard a voice.
“Don’t worry Sailor Scouts! I’ll save you!” It was Aeris.
“No Aeris don’t! He’ll kill you!” Sailor Moon yelled.
Aeris ignored her. She ran up to the monster and began to fight him. She was a skilled martial artist and easily evaded his blows. Aeris picked him up and held him above her head. Just then a crescent moon appeared on her forehead.
“Look!” Artemis said weakly. All the Scouts couldn’t believe it. Then Aeris threw the monster to the ground.
“I can’t defeat him like this,” Aeris thought to herself. She looked at Sailor Moon’s Scepter. She ran over and picked it up.
“I’m just going to borrow this,” she said.
“Moon Scepter Elimination!”
The power of the Scepter struck the monster and it turned into Moon dust. She sat the Scepter next to Sailor Moon and ran off.
“I don’t get it! Why did Aeris have the crescent moon and how was she able to use my Scepter?” Serena whined. Darien put his arm around her.
“I can’t answer that Serena. But maybe Aeris can,” Luna said. Just then they saw Aeris walking up the steps to the temple. Her soft hair and skirt blew gently in the wind.
“Hello. I thought that I might find you all here,” Aeris said.
“Aeris we have a few questions for you. But first we have to tell you that we are…” Mars started.
“I know. You are the Sailor Scouts. I know. I have been looking for you.” Aeris interrupted.
“How do you know?” Alex said.
“I had a vision. A woman told me. She said that she was Queen Serenity, Princess Serena’s mother,” Aeris answered.
Just then a ball of white light appeared. When the light toned down they could see a figure.
“Queen Serenity!” they said in unison.
“Yes. It is I, Queen Serenity. What Aeris said is true. I did contact her,” she said soothingly.
“But why?” Serena asked.
“Aeris is destined to be Sailor Moon. The Princess of the Moon was to be protected by Sailor Moon. When Luna found you she sensed the power of the Moon. And she was right. But what she sensed was not that you were Sailor Moon, but the Moon Princess. She knew nothing of the fact that Sailor Moon and the Princess were two different people,” said Queen Serenity.
“Then why didn’t you tell us about Aeris?” Darien asked.
“Serena needed to learn how to take care of herself until Aeris was located. The experiences Serena has had as Sailor Moon has made her a stronger person. She will need that experience in the future,” Queen Serenity answered.
They all stood still for a moment.
“And now my dear Aeris. It is time to except your destiny as Sailor Moon. You must be loyal to your friends and always protect the Princess. The two of you are essential for the future of this planet,” said Queen Serenity.
“Queen Serenity? What about the Silver Crystal? Am I able to use it?” Aeris asked. “Yes. With the power of Sailor Moon come the responsibilities of the Imperium Silver Crystal. It holds great power that the two of you have yet to unlock. And now…” Queen Serenity said as she looked to Serena.
Serena stood up. She took off her locket. It shimmered in the moonlight. Aeris walked over to where Serena stood. She put her hand over Serena’s with the locket in between. A great light came from between their hands and quickly faded. When they looked Aeris was transformed into Sailor Moon and Serena into the Moon Princess.
“There is one more thing that you should know,” Queen Serenity said.
“Aeris has a brother,” Queen Serenity continued. Everyone looked at Darien. Queen Serenity smiled.
“Yes Darien, its you. You are Aeris’s brother,” Queen Serenity finished. Darien stood up.
He walked over to where Aeris and Serena stood and looked into Aeris’s emerald eyes.
“How come I never knew it before? Why didn’t they tell me in the hospital after the crash?” Darien asked.
“Our mother was pregnant with me when the crash happened. I some how got switched with a dead baby. They figured since you had amnesia and I was presumed dead, they didn’t tell you,” Aeris answered.
Darien then hugged Aeris and tears came from his eyes. Aeris began to cry with him. Queen Serenity smiled.
“Take care of each other,” she said and disappeared into the night sky.
