NEW YORK GARAGE

NEW YORK, New York, top of the world!  Where television, radio and record exectutives, in their grey suits, were all searching for the American Beatles.  All across New York, from Palisades Park and New Rochalle to Albany, Rochester and Buffalo, the kids in the garage were all dreaming that they would be the one.

A gem on New York Garage is Little Peppy (Marlene Torre) out of Rochester.  The haunting 'Since You've Gone Away' is Marlene's lament to her lover drafted to fight in Vietnam.   This song along with 'It Can Happen' were written by Marlene and recorded with The Bare Existance.

Also featured with New York Garage are The Mods, Inmates, Myddle Class and The Werps from across the river in Jersey.   The Balladeers and Santan' Breed from Rhode Island, The Bugs and CC from Massachusetts along with Five Card Stud from Connecticut.  Truly a time capsule of the music and attitudes of America in the sixties.
