THE SOUTH WEST
The Arizona desert at sunset

The South West, consists of garage bands from - Arizona, Arkansas, Hawaii, Kansas, Missouri, Neveda, New Mexico, Oaklahoma and Tennessee.  Rockin' from the desert to Nashville and across the Pacifc to Honolulu.

From the furious opening chords and drum rolls "Lovin' Just My Style", by The Caravelles, is one of the signature songs of the garage era.  The Caravelles, from Phoenix Arizona, recorded "Lovin' Just My Style" along with the interesting lyrics of "Self Service" in 1966.  The band consisted of: John Fitzgerald - vocals and harmonica, Mike Lipman - lead guitar, Jerry Brecci - rhythm guitar, Danny Reed - keyboards and Doug Steiner - drums.

You have heard of "Memphis Brass"! - Check out the brass of The Jades horn section.   Kent Washburn - tenor sax and band leader, Amos Ming - alto sax, baritone sax and flute, Terry Mead - trumpet and valve trombone, Bing Vasser - trumpet.  Along with Bill Schooler - piano, Archie Barnes - guitar, Dale Roark - bass and Denny Freeman - drums, the band is blasting it out.

The Escapades and The Jades rocked across Tennessee
