CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND

The Chocolate Watch Band was a dream come true for five young men living in San Jose, California 1965 to 69.  Some 40 plus years ago "In the Past", was a strange time in America.  Centered around a war in southeast Asia that was killing and maiming the best of our generation.  A time when a pill appeared making free love not only possible, but as a right of passage "Are You going to be There - At the Love In".

Flower Power, with drugs floating around that could take you to other worlds and places of no return "No Way Out".  And there was a belief that it was possible to change the world.  It all began in a garage playing their guitars and drum.  Along the way was an appearance in the 1967 movie "Riot on Sunset Strip".  Ending, as the decade closed, with management fueds and four years of living high "I Ain't No Miracle Worker".

The Watchband, influenced by the Rolling Dead and Grateful Airplane, created their own psychedelic sound that defined the California scene of the 60's "I'm Not Like everybody Else".
